I actually first read this a few days after it was posted and was utterly wowed, but I don't think I actually ever left a comment, so I'm doing so now. I thought you'd like to know that this probably holds the title of my all-time favorite piece of fanfiction. It's beautifully written, and does a great job of something you see very rarely in fandom - keeping the characters true to the author's original portrayal while still looking for potential aspects of their life and personality that the original author hasn't been able to develop. It's probably one of fanfiction's greatest potentialities, but unfortunately is barely ever exploited, and even more rarely done this well ( ... )
