Wow, just wow. My first thought on clicking the link to read this was probably, "I don't even like this ship much, but what the heck, it sounds good." I love the constant references to stormy weather and Draco's determined obtuseness to Bill's affection, as well as the bad language and fairly ordinary exchange between the two men in the midst of all the lush description. This is just like a perfect little piece of coffee chocolate: delicately crafted, melting in the brain and oh-so-intoxicating.
Thank you so much - especially for giving it a whirl when the pairing didn't have obvious appeal. The only clear thing I had in mind when I began was Draco missing rain, so I'm glad the repeated idea of storms worked!
And now I'm going to need coffee and chocolate, because I'm really just that suggestible. ;) Thanks again!
Beautiful. Tense, realistic dialogue, with Draco so gorgeously difficult yet needy, and interwoven with a wonderful sense of place. Everything's so lush and foreign and glowing with colour and scent and magic, I just read it in a swoon.
I've never cared for Draco but you kept him in character and made me love him in this story. I didn't think that was possible. *g*
I'm thrilled you liked Draco - that's a wonderful compliment. And it was mad fun to research the background details, to try and make Egypt seem real, so I'm really pleased you enjoyed that! thank you so much!
