I'm not sure what to say. I'm moved tremendously by this story, and I can't really find the words for how I'm feeling. It's terribly beautiful and sad. I really like this version of Tonks.

As soon as I saw your name and the pairing I immediately clicked on the link and read until I reached the end. I hold my breath waiting for your next Hr/T story. I've loved them all. This was beautiful and when it came full circle, I cried.

Dora paused over her boots, fumbling with her laces while the sparks settled in the hearth. Her dad’s jumper, Charlie’s socks. Sirius’ boots.

Pretty, pretty writing. I really, really like your Tonks. A lot.

But you need to look at the 'Ted Dora's though. That was distracting.

As a matter of fact, where is Charlie in this?

He's always there, Tonk's is always wearing his clothes, particularly when Hermione comes round. He's there at the beginning/end, rubbing her back, he's there at the funeral, asking her to dance. She remembers him at school, and for making her laugh, she "loves him more than anyone else in the world?"

Charlie's there -- in this universe, he's Dora's best friend as well as being her ex-boyfriend, which is where all of the borrowed articles of clothing/associations come from, one imagines. They're still friends so she still wears the clothes of his that are comfortable; I have a shirt that I stole from a boyfriend who I last dated when I was 18 (4 years ago).

I'm not sure what the point of this was, but Charlie is there. Like Ted, he's very much a constant in Dora's life, separate from her relationship with Hermione.
