Patron - Saint. Regulus/Lucius (R for implied sex and darkness) Disclaimer: I am JKR. Ask asphodeline Beta-ed by eumenides1 - there are no words to say how much I appreciate her, I mean would YOU want to beta this?
I've been meaning to do this for a while, as I'm convinced that Regulus must have had someone with him when he got the Horcrux from the cave. I've read a lot of "after the cave" fics but not actually who went with him. Can't be Sirius, (unless Sirius is lying to Harry about his brother's death) could have been Snape I guess. However I like to imagine this - which is probably balderdash.
Thank you so very much - I haven't written anything for ages it seems and this came from nowhere. So glad you liked it, and my reply has been longer than your comment. sorry./ramble.
It wasn't Joyce that I thought of while reading. More like Dylan Thomas, particularly Under Milk Wood.
a tattoo of skin, like drums in the fathoms of his sin-drenched-soul, and Down to the dark where the souls never sleep, down to the salt, down to the bone - salt in the blood - salt in the semen, and and the shaking, the strength of the shudder in the echoing nothing in particular really resonated Dylan Thomas at me. I think it's the alliteration. And all the sssss's!
Gosh - I'm staggered. I don't know DT very well, my sister was a big fan, and I always went the opposite way to her, but obviously he's a god, so I'm extremely flattered.
I don't think I can phrase precisely how wonderful this is - all I can say is that you are truly a wordsmith. The rhythm this story has is impeccable - I'm having an proper English-induced orgasm right now. Brilliant.
Ooh, that's so beautiful. Gorgeously written. I love your take on canon. It sounds really plausible, given what we know about Lucius. The ending slayed me. Poor, poor Regulus. It was so moving.
Oh GOD! *heart breaks* Just when I think I can't possibly fangirl you any more... *sobs* Where do you get it from? How do you take a pile of words and put them together in such a way?
His fingers beat the words in a tattoo of skin, like drums in the fathoms of his sin-drenched-soul. His mouth trails the words; silver salt in a groan which echoes and fractures into others. How?! It's just so unbelievably fucking beautiful GAH! You KILL me, woman. *clings to your feet*

Thank you so much. Although it is a little mad like Tuckoo. Don't know where it came from, just got "must write or burst" this afternoon.
You say the loveliest things.
