Oh, yum. Roddy definitely needs more screentime in HP smut. And Lucius...gah. That was absolutely amazing, the amount of characterization you fit in 500 words. And it was all just so good. I'm sorry I'm not more coherent.
There are few things in this world that make me as happy as a well-written fic with one of the Lestranges in it. That said, this particular fic made me absolutely delirious. You've always got a lovely way with words, but the progression (or, rather, regression) of this fic in particular just hit me.
Also: There is a little part of his mind that finds it ironic that he cares more for Rabastan's ire than that of his devastation of a wife. made me wibble in the best of ways.
It started the "right" way round, but that didn't exactly make sense..
All my pre-conceptions of the Lestranges come from you - I had never considered them before, and your scenes of them escpaing from the coast will stay with me forver. There is a scene of them on a train that I have scored into my brain, and make my picture of their relationship. Thank you so much for that.
Hmm. I liked this more for the last little bit. The calculation behind all of it. The idea of the 'coveted hand' early on set off a different impression, the one a lot of people write, that sex and bodily appreciation is craved, despite the feelings behind them. But it's that last bit, 'an achiever, a wanton collector' that makes me shiver, as it's so detached. It's simply a desire to manipulate as well as the joys of sex. And you suddenly see Roddy as a psychopath.
I certainly see him as a psychopath, noddity nod. An urbane and glamorous shiny one too, a bit like Lucius, but with an inferiority complex a mile wide; constant sense of "why am I not included?" paranoia too.
Nnngggh god that was good. I love the backwards time thing (technical term there, honest), it made me read it twice. I had to read it backwards once I'd finished it forwards. It also made the build up (build down?) to the sex scene that bit more tantalising since I knew it was going to happen because it already had *brain explodes from anti-time).
Wonderful characterisation and beautifully written as always, and I'm really starting to adore how you show me something completely new and original with every story you write.
