For the 500 watchers challenge, and because I have never tried my hand at Tonks. And this one is a bit strange, a bit sad and a bit wistful.

I love this.

There is so little R/T, and even less R/T that is this beautifully bittersweet. She has him but she doesn't really have him completely. Her love is so raw, and he is so tangled up in all sorts of things that he can't quite be what she needs.

Thank you! I don't know why R/T came into my head; I don't normally write het-pairings, let alone one like R/T. It's just not me. *grins* I think I was aiming for kind of bewilderment, because I'm a puppyshipper, and wanted to explore what Tonks' relationship could be like with him. Remus is older, with everything that means; previous passionate loves, human commitments, being a little tired and worn from life. Tonks is so young, she hasn't had anything, and the probability of this getting to her was one I liked.

Plus, I couldn't make it longer, and it was almost exactly 500 words. *grins*

:) Tonks is always so brash and bright in canon, I just thought she might have a childhood where everything wasn't pink and purple, clashing.

Thank you. I liked that line because...well. Remus once WAS a prefect, and a good man, and a bit of a saviour. But now... he's not so much.

Thank you! I was pushing for a Tonks who knew about Sirius, and that she didn't have him entirely, but can't fight someone who's not even there anymore. And I thank you, because the ending... I like the ending best. Tonks can't win, Sirius the way he was in OOTP was a possessive, jealous, hot-tempered man, and I can see him holding onto Remus whatever happened, and laughing at her for trying. And Tonks is young already and cannot hold anything against school memories, and boyhood and Remus whose heart is still a bit shattered. So its hopeless, and she doesn't know what she's fighting but she's still fighting.

This is so painful - and so IC too. JKR has Tonks suffer for a year but I swear she loves fanfic, or why would she leave so many places one could write it?

The fact that they are sleeping together is so IC. And so fucking painful.

You're welcome. Incidentally, I've been trying to hunt you down, so I might have a proper beta if I could ask. But you're not on AIM, ever, when I am.

I like the idea that they were 'together' through book six, that Tonks didn't have him, but I also like the idea that he's still not hers, even when he's given in. So I tried for something in between.

But *cuddles* It's not that bad, promise! I'm just a... true blue puppershipper, who learnt to slash with them. And you've SEEN how much slash I write.
