I agree with the person who said this is much more a poem than a meme; it's beautiful and wrenching, and it reads like a whole, rather than parts. I hesitate to ask you to join the fest I'm hosting based on entries for this meme because of that (because I'm sure you must view this as a story in itself), but have boilerplate, anyway:

I'm compiling a list of authors who have completed
this meme for the purposes of a. knowing where all of
