Welcome to hp_laughs, a new Harry Potter humor-based prompt fest.

The Basics:
Follow the rules and we'll be golden.  This is a humor fest.  Angst, non-con, dub-con, kinks, etc.  are allowed if and only if you can make it funny.  Feel free to do whatever you want but if it's not humorous, it defeats the purpose of this fest

Just for clarification, would all fics have to be exactly 500 words long, or can they be longer?

That is my question, as well.

The fics can be longer. That was a typo on my part. The rules now say: "All fics must be at least 500 words long. NO EXCEPTIONS. They can be longer."

Hi. Would you mind clarifying the banning of "kinks"? I can understand that it would be difficult to include non-con in a humour fic while maintaining good taste (although I totally think it could be done. A satire of darkfic, for example, could be hilarious) but I don't get banning kinks in general. Frotting is a kink, for example. As is biting, spanking, bondage, tickling, etc etc.

Hi! Sorry about the confusion. The rules have been modified to read: "Angst, non-con, dub-con, kinks, etc. are allowed if and only if you can make it funny, feel free to do whatever you want but if it's not humorous, it defeats the purpose of this fest."

So satire and all that are allowed but the story has to be funny!

When sign-ups open, you can choose to write w/o picking a prompt! I'd suggest doing that since all prompts are first come, first serve. But yes, you can pick your own prompt
