Minor quandry...

I'm knitting up a House Unity scarf out of some scraps of acrylic and I have a ponderance. I'm in the middle. The pattern I'm following has instructed that the middlest middly black segment be as long as any of the other segments, but I'm thinking that maybe doubling it, or just adding mayhaps another twenty rows will add some zhuzh to something ( Read more... )

If you need extra length to make it a preferred length, then that's the best place to do it. If you'd made all the stripes longer, that would have made them disproportionate to their width.

I'm edging towards the extra stitches. I think it's going to give it a little bit of oomph, and more tot he point being five foot eight I need those extra five inches.

Does the spacing as it is now look okay? I'm not after perfect, I'm after cheap, cheerful and fun for the book release. I plan to have the scarf tied firmly round my knees so I can get the book read before something makes an appearance:D

It looks fine. Recognizable, but subtle. Only a fan would know! :D

Heh heh heh, I'll be with at least one Gryff and a SLytherin so I'll not be able to fade that easily:) Damn my churning out of house scarves >_<

My next knitting project will not be scarfy....

Well, it shouldn't be, but I have yarn for another Gryff so we'll see. I really want to make a cardigan though *ponders*

Oh wow, that looks really nice so far! Is the background/main colour black or dark navy?

I think go for the extra - live a little :) I think it will break it up nicely.

Thanks:)

It's cheap black acrylic I had lurking about the house. It's knit from scraps, nothing was bought for the project:)

I went with twenty extra rows in the end. It's still going to be a bit short though. I think I may have to work out a pattern of my own for it at some point as I'm a fan of the longer scarf if truth be told:)
