Oh I've got chills.

This is a gorgeous, gorgeous piece of writing. I love the descriptive language, you give a really vivid sense of the opulent decay Reggie sees around him and there are some pitch perfect character portraits in here as well. I particularly liked the way you illuminated the Black family relationships (Reggie's observations about Narcissa were fantastic and creepy). They are my favourites as well!

Wow, Regulus is one of my favorites as well, and this was a chilling scene. I loved the details of the Imperiused fairies and Regulus being glad that Bellatrix doesn't have children. Nice portrayal of him within his high-society world.

Love this! So many good lines - the first that really made me sit up and take notice was "Regulus’ mask is the only one that holds in place." I really like your take on Bella, "the perfect Dark Witch" - because of course, that is exactly what she is. And I love the feeling of menace you create with details such as "fairies that cower Imperiused in the branches". And the feeling of helplessness, of a doom that Regulus can't escape although he longs to do so. Really lovely piece - thank you!

Ohh thank you, this is wonderful!
The writing is gorgeous and I love the characterizations of the various characters and their relationships. I think this is the first time I've come across a more vulnerable characterization of Barty.
It's very chilling how very flat all the glamor seems to be, everyone playing a certain part. And yet, it's also very much who these people are. Regulus' isolation is palpable and how he seems to have friends and yet there is no one he can turn to. And yet, he seems to have planned to do what he has planned to do to save what he loves and maybe even the people he loves, though some of them will be destroyed in the process. It's a very painful construction.
