Ah, that's lovely - and I like the idea of hexed lava lamps as a murder method....

Thanks! The moment I came up with the lava lamp was definitely a bit of a breakthrough, though I secretly suspect most Death Eaters would find them baffling - heck, I'm a Muggle and I find them baffling!

Ah! So sweet and cute and well-done. (Arthur and a rubber duckie is only second to Arthur and a Slinky.) I loved Perkins in this, too. Very Government Employee- I swear to God I used to work with him. (I worked in the US Department of Agriculture for a few years- you NAILED stereotypical government workers. Hehe.) I figured out what the lava lamp was about 2 seconds before you said it (I was thinking fake Christmas tree for some reason earlier).

Great stuff, and lucky a_t_rain!

Arthur/Slinky is hard to beat, it's true. I'm glad Perkins rang so true for you; I've only spent time in the sheltered halls of academe, but perhaps human nature is the same everywhere. :) Thanks for reading!

Oh, this is utterly delightful! I love seeing young Arthur so excited and innovative and putting Perkins off with his competence. And his young love for Molly is really very charming. I enjoyed this.

Thank you! Charming is exactly the right word to describe Arthur here. I'm very pleased you enjoyed the story.

St. James' Park. Some sort of toy ducks are loose in the pond.

Ha! That's awesome.

I really love that Arthur takes to this, well, like a duck to water. And hee, plugs!

The title's very apt - this really is a breath of fresh air!

*has a sneaking suspicion about the mystery author's identity...*
