I really like how you show Sirius through Regulus's eyes: naughty, trouble-making and bullying - and we do know he was like that! And of course for a younger brother who perceives himself as inferior, there's a lot to be resentful about.

I love how you use the underlying thread of Christmas to portray all these diffrent events, and that last line about Kreacher is so poignant. Very nicely done. :)

Sorry for the belated comment. I really enjoyed your showing a different side to the Blacks then we usually get in fanfiction. Even for a huge Marauder fan, such as myself, I can totally see Sirius as you portray him here. I didn't think that Rowling made enough of an effort to show Voldemort may have won followers and influence, especially leading up to the First War. So I appreciate what you've done here. Your story is bittersweet as any canon like tale of Regulus is but we Reg fans expect that.

Interesting look at Regulus; his character felt true to what little we might gather from the series and you added to him wonderfully. I can definitely see him as the tortured little brother and how excited he'd be for the journey's he starting with wanting to make his parents proud/live up to the Black name in the way Sirius did not. There's a lot I still want to know about Regulus and this story filled in some of that nicely. The last bit about Kreacher was a nice touch too.
