Oh, this was beautiful. I'd never really thought about the relationship that Luna and Mr Ollivander must have built up while they were prisoners.
It was a bit like what had happened after Mum died. She could never forget she was dead... but she didn't have to constantly remember it, either. How very apt - and very in character for Luna.
This was a very sweet portrait of their post-war relationship. I do adore Luna, and you've captured her unabashed sincerity and deep emotional insight very well. I like to see her reaching out to help another social misfit, and refusing to let the generational gap stand in the way of friendship.
What a lovely little fic. It's sad without being miserable, poignant without being trite, hopeful without being all Hallmarky. I love the rebuilding aspect of it, the moving-on...Luna being Luna and her sweet relationship with Mr. Ollivander and all that. This is just such a wonderful little fic.
I really enjoyed this - your Luna is lovely, and her relationship to Ollivander is just like I imagine it might play out post-war. I love the sense of hopefulness that surrounds this. This warms me from the inside :)
