What an amazing treat! In this small space you’ve fitted so many emotions, touches, various sense perceptions… It’s all incredibly beautiful but not in a simple, unproblematic way. I find it fascinating and important that in the depiction of a queer (or any) relationship, it’s not taken for granted that it’s easy and readily accepted by everyone. You’ve wonderfully managed to make this ficlet into a real story with development, while including some very satisfying physical interaction throughout. The sentence about the red in the nature and in Pomona is my particular favourite, and I also love free and fearless as a banshee, which is in wonderful contrast with Poppy’s troubles in relaxing and reaching pure joy.
