Of course he does. And of course he says he doesn't.

Beautiful, as always.

What amazes me, again and again, is how you put something into words that wasn't there before and, once I have read it, it is as if it was impossible it did not always already exist.

Thank you, Milotzi! What a nice comment. I've always found Albus interesting to consider.

Thank you so much for this lovely gift. It is definitely chilling, but what I appreciate most is how it flows, how it builds up - first there's the mist - we reckon it is sent by Grindelwald but isn't it so much more, isn't part of him in the mist? I loved the duality "caresses and torments" - it makes the title so fitting too, given that at some point Piaf's lyrics talk about «Mes chagrins, mes plaisirs». I'm generally a fan of stories that explore characters more deeply and their lack/refusal of self-awareness. So I thought this was brilliantly done in very few impactful words. Again, thank you so much for creating this double drabble for me. I'm sorry for the late reply but it's still All Souls Day, so I haven't missed the window of Allhallowtide season just yet. :)

Thank you for this lovely comment! So glad you liked the drabble. I enjoyed the chance to explore the later-year connections between Albus and Gellert; prison and physical separation would not necessarily be barriers to men as magically powerful as they. Their complicated relationship would be rife with oppositions, paradoxes, and concealments.

I love that you manage to capture their complex relationship in so few words.
Excellent drabble!

Thank you! I believe Albus is right to refuse to gratify Gellert, but as I'm sure Gellert knows, no matter what Albus says to him, he (Albus) will spend the night thinking of those regrets.
