What a delicious take on the prompt! I love the image of a little puffball of a baby jarvey riding around on Draco's shoulder, throwing additional insults at anyone who gets in Draco's way. Thank you.

As soon as I read this prompt I thought to myself, "what kind of animal would mistake Draco Malfoy for it's mother??" And then immediately, "what was that animal that can only talk in rude language?" I checked out the HP Lexicon, and it turns out that the animal I was thinking of was a jarvey, which looks like an oversized ferret.

It was like a sign from God. And God was saying, "Sri, go forth and write school age H/D undertones!fic." And I replied, "Yes, ma'am."

Anyway, delusions of grandeur aside ... thanks for the hilarious prompt! I'm glad you enjoyed the fic :D

YAY! Yes, Draco SHOULD have a jarvey for his familiar. I'm thoroughly pleased that Snape had his moment in this as well.

Hiya! I noticed your fic about the same time I posted mine - what a shame, now neither of them will be known as "that one with the jarvey." Of course, we're about three more fics away from jarveys becoming a new fandom cliche (*fingers crossed!*).

Hee hee ... we should spread the ideas that Malfoy's animagus form and/or patronus is a jarvey. That's two fics right there! Add a jarvey-as-the-seventh-horcrux adventure epic, and we're done XD
