I really liked this! I loved your young, prickly, socially-inexperienced and vulnerable Snape, and Minerva as a self-confident adult witch attempting to draw him out and basically, urging him to grow up. And of course, Albus being a barmy old codger and throwing them together. Lovely little character study!

Thank you! It was fun imagining a scenario that would meet the prompt guidelines and throw Severus & Minerva together, so Albus stepped in to fix it up for me. ;-) I'm glad you enjoyed it.

A marvelous and entirely plausible interlude. Dumbledore would absolutely do something like that.

Great characterizations, too. I had no trouble at all seeing this happening, and I thank you for a most enjoyable and ultimately hopeful story.

Thank you! I saw the ending as hopeful, as well, with Severus & Minerva now having the basis for a friendship and further exchanges of confidence in the future.

*ROFL* You have Minerva read WHAT?!? Now that is truely original!! :-)) And Severus not believing her answer - naturally, I would not have either *gg*
Flitwick landing with a splash was the second delightful joke :-)
A wonderful read, thank you!

;-) I'm glad you got a nice chuckle out of Minerva's book and Severus's reaction!

I could see little Flitwick landing with a splash and just laughing it off -- he's such a joyful wizard, I think.

Thanks!

A fascinating conversation - a very interesting and plausible take on both Snape and McGonagall, and, as has already been said, exactly the sort of thing that Dumbledore would do! I loved Dumbledore's house, too, and Minerva being friendly with Rosier's grandmother.

It was an interesting exercise to imagine what important things might come out in their conversation and how they might begin to relate to each other better. I thought that eventually, Severus might come to recognize a parallel between himself and Paulie Rosier and to see that Minerva could mourn someone who became a Death Eater and was lost in Azkaban, and then she might actually value him as an individual, as just Severus Snape, despite his past.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
