Nothing short of amazing, the way you made this believable. You even managed it whilst keeping them in character and maintaining their mutual loathing.

It also shows how much Snape really did love her, that he would aid one of his tormentors for her sake.

Really very well done, indeed!

I'm really glad it worked for you. I found writing a believable storyline really challenging here. Thanks again for a splendid (and quick) beta work!

Poor Snape - such self-loathing! But very believable, and quite in character. And you have managed to make James both believable and likeable too.

I'm glad you found my far-fetched story somewhat in character. I usually don't write Snape, but I liked the idea of them bonding over Lily's health.

Fabulous! And such a lovely exploration of the idea of each friend representing a world within us. The idea of Lily bringing out the good in James has always struck me as a bit of a sexist premise for a relationship and one I'm inclined to dismiss in fic, but you've reminded me here that what that looks like in practice and how important it can be. I'm not sure I know what you refer to about James's and Lily's relationship because I rarely read any fic about them, but I'm glad you found my version reasonable.

That would have been nice, if something like this had really happened between the two of them - it is not impossible, especially if Dumbledore plotted to set it into motion.

Wouldn't it? Thank you.

"Yet, contrary to popular belief, I keep my word all the same." Yes, he always does, and all it gets him is pain and suffering, poor guy :/ But I do like to think that he'd be unselfish enough to want to spare Lily as much annoyance as possible, as you've shown here :)

I'm pretty sure he wanted to spare Lily whatever he could, but I can't promise that Dating James was Snape's favourite idea... And yes, Snape did a lot of things in canon, including being a really petty bully to Harry, but he always kept his word.
