A Word of Welcome
Hello everyone, and welcome to hp_ficathon, a Harry Potter fanfic writing challenge community. Here, on the first and third Saturday of every month, participants will have 25 prompts and 24 hours in which to write fic for as many as they can (100 words or longer). Interested in participating? Check out our rules and join, or sit back, relax, and enjoy the fic.
Prompts and themes for the ficathon will be posted on the Thursday before the ficathon day (for US timezones). The 25 given prompts will be selected by your friendly neighbourhood mods, myself and crystalusagi, on alternating weeks. Additionally, each week will be assigned an overarching "theme" around which to center your fics. Often, use of this theme is entirely optional and purely there for additional inspiration, but occasionally, it may be mandatory. This will be noted on the same post as the prompts for the week.
After the ficathon's writing period is over, participants will all receive banners for their efforts. Additionally, a forum post will be made, wherein the writers can discuss their fics and their writing and creative processes in the ficathon. Also, after the time is up, all fics will be archived at our website.

hp_ficathon's first round will take place Saturday, July 1st, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.. Look for the Prompts and Themes post on Thursday, June 29th.
