Prompt: Number 2: ‘Tell me a lie’
Date: 07/15/06
Summary: Hermione is in love.
Pairing(s): Hermione/Blaise
Warning: Het, angst
Length: 138
Hermione stares at the boy before her. He lies, exhausted, on the floor, arms and legs thrown out carelessly, a post-sex look on his face.
She knows it was nothing to him. All those touches, moans, whispers, and nights meant nothing to him.
But they meant the world to her.
"What?" Blaise asks, propping his body up on his elbows to look at her. Hermione imagines she looks silly, half-dressed and gazing longingly at him.
If it would make a difference, she would tell him she's in love with him, but as it is, he already knows. So she pleads, "Tell me a lie."
Blaise stares at her for a long time before he says, "I love you."
And if Hermione closes her eyes and concentrates, she can pretend she hadn’t spoken before him. Then everything feels right.

There are eight letters in the name Hermione. That is why Ron loves her.
H
Hermione is here. She always was, ever since day one. Back in first year, when she annoyed the snot out of me (still does, in fact, but in a different way), she was always around.
And then we became friends and she was always there for Harry and I. Whenever we needed help, whether it was just for an assignment for potions or saving the world, she was there. Oh, she would give us grief about some things, like the assignments, but she was still there.
Now that we are out of Hogwarts, she's still around. She lives here, in our flat. Harry's not too far away and if there's ever a problem she's there for him in a snap. She may have a high job in the Ministry but she never stopped being here.
E
Hermione is equality. She treats Harry and I the same even though Harry's more famous. In her eyes, we are equally important, it's easy to tell, and for that, I am thankful.
She also made S.P.E.W. into an actual organization. There are not that many members and in the past year they've freed a low number of two house-elves, but that doesn't deter her. Even when the elves themselves tell her they don't desire to be free, she fights for them.
R
Hermione is rare. She's not as rare as say Luna Lovegood, but she's rare in the fact that she doesn't let other people control her. Her friends may shape her but only slightly. She shapes herself. While I give in easily to peer pressure, she doesn't. But what I've found that's most rare about her is she tolerates me and my temper, sometimes ill-used humor, and any other faults I possess, and loves me.
M
Hermione is mad. Back at Hogwarts she was so obsessed with school it scared me a little. Especially that she considered being expelled worse than killed. Luckily, her views on that have changed since first year.
She is also a girl, therefore, mad by design. But I can't blame her for that. Ginny's just as mad as her in that genre. At least she's not as bad as Mum.
We still argue over everything. It's mad how we can spend hours being angry over a misplaced coffee cup. The only thing is, before she's gone mad, during, and after, I still love her.
I
Hermione is irreplaceable. Without her I wouldn't get up in the mornings, arrive at work in time, or wear clothes that match. She manages to shove fruits and vegetables down my throat so I stay healthy and makes sure I brush my teeth every morning and night (mostly because she doesn't want to kiss me otherwise).
If it weren't for her I would be so unorganized, would never have went for my career as an Unspeakable (which I love but can't tell you about), and I wouldn't be in love.
O
Hermione is outstanding. In our seventh year, all she got was Os, which just goes to show how smart she is. In her Ministry job creating charms and defensive spells, she is outstanding. Not only does she spew out spells like crazy, she is the best in the department. As if anything else could be expected.
She's outstanding in everything, whether it's making the bed (no wrinkles, how does she do it?) or calming Harry during one of his guilt trips. It's mind boggling just how outstanding she is.
N
Hermione is new. Not new as in I-just-bought-her-from-Diagon-Alley new. No, new as in she thinks of so many things. Just the other day, she thought of changing Harry's birthday party from huge with many people to small and personal. I know he will love it. One thing that never changed is that he doesn't like to be publicized.
Every day she's thinking up new and amazing things, little and big. Even after I've known her for ten years and lived with her for two, she still manages to surprise me.
E
Hermione is engaged. To me. That is the reason I love her the most. She's in love with me as much as I am with her. It works perfectly.
