Or:  Why Dumbledore's Death Wasn't Murder
Type your cut contents here.

Recently, upon pondering things I'd like to see in Book 7, a thought came to mind unbidden, "Why didn't Fawkes come to Dumbledore when Snape killed him?"  After all, it's not like Fawkes hasn't proven that he can be there in a second to take one for the old man.   And, unlike in ( Read more... )

Thank you. That's been my default icon since I started my LJ. I've written under the name Randy Sex Kitten (or RSK) for... oh my, over four years now; with a little over three years at LJ.

That the AK means instant death? Not even a phoenix can awaken the dead...

Fawkes could still fly in and cause some sort of havoc that would stop Snape from killing Dumbledore, right? (Like Fawkes helping Harry by blinding the basilisk in CoS, and thus saving his life.. or at least making it easier for him to stay alive, ha.)

I think kerylr is referring to Fawkes basically swallowing an AK from Voldemort in the Ministry in OotP to save Dumbledore, and why he didn't do the same with Snape's AK in HBP; not that Fawkes could bring Dumbledore back to life.

And kerylr, I think that's an excellent point to consider.

In from the Snitch. Great point! I never thought that Snape was 'guilty' on this point (misconstrued conversations heard in the Forbidden Forest again? Dang, Ms. Rolwing! At least break out a new totally obvious trick!) but this was a point I hadn't considered before.

It now goes on the 'Your wank will owe mine an apology!' list! Thanks!

That thought has been around for a while, and yes, it's one of the strongest points for a 'planned murder/mercy killing/whatever'. The Dumbledore is not dead website was using it as an argument very soon after HBP. While the theory of D. still being alive somewhere was shot down by Jo, the website is still fun to explore. They have a lot more ideas there why the whole scene was fishy, in a 'Snape is an evil murderer' sense. Go and take a look.

I wasn't sure if this was an original idea (I've been off line taking care of a new baby) but it seemed like a good way to get back into the conversation. Plus this is about as complcated of a thought I can hold in my current sleep deprived state :).

I'll have to check out Dumbledore is not dead.

Yes, it's definitely a good way to get back in (and congrats for the baby! :) ). I think we can't point out those things often enough! And the DIND site is just too good to not check out.
