OMG YAY! I was SO excited when I saw this prompt was chosed, and for good reason. You did it amazingly well. The structure of your writing actually really reminded me of Crime and Punishment, in a way, too.

I love how numb James is as he's revisiting everything, how it gives the entire fic a very 'out of body' feel. It fits perfectly with where James is--trapped in a prison cell.

This line (And about three weeks in, when Scorpius got a detention for ripping out flowers in greenhouse one to give to James, it became obvious romance wasn't dead in a 21st century world.) was one of my favorites. It was very quirky sweet, and just an altogether nice mental image.

But my favorite bit overall was the entire last section, particularly: The thing that really surprised him was how much blood there was. James had known logically that people were essentially bags of blood, skin covering so much liquid. He just hadn't linked logic to action. Oh man, that's just... awesome, really, I don't know how exactly to express it. ♥

I love the calm of this fic, as gradually the awfulness becomes apparent. This is a dreadful prediction of the future repression of the Potter kids. It feels realistic, though. It wouldn't be easy to be the child of heroes. I love what you've done here and how you've done it.

This was honestly crushing ... what James had to endure, what he felt, how his family changed into the worst kind of monsters.

Brilliantly done!

OHGOD.. this is serene, quiet and gruesome at the same time (in a good way!). I love it so much.

This is beautiful and horrible (in an absolutely perfect way!) and packs one hell of a punch. I loved how the writing was terse and snappy and how that helped give this an air of desperation, resignation, and betrayal. The Potters broke my heart, both with their retreat from the world and how that hurt their children and also with their vicious reactions. Gorgeous, dark, and haunting. Brilliant work.
