Very sweet indeed, and touched on a few raw places for me.

Oh, I do hope you haven't had to revisit too much trauma by way of this story.

(Though it is rather gratifying to know that it touched some raw places; I think that this version of Hermione might be a caricature of myself in the early days of my own homosexuality.)

Thanks so much for the review!

I think this is the first Minerva fic ever at the Emo fest! Very enjoyable. I love Minerva's explanation about why the wizarding world might be more accepting than the Muggle world (even though the wizards seem so conservative in other ways): the notion that magic suffers if you can't love who you need to love. So many metaphorical possibilities here. I like Minerva's voice overall, and Hermione's believable concern for her relationship with her parents.

Really! That's very interesting, though I can see why it would happen. MM isn't exactly angsty in canon. In fact, she's terribly buttoned-up!

But that's the fun of writing this pairing for this fest -- getting to explore certain neuroses that inevitably live in the hearts of perfectionists, yes? Especially ones ambitious enough to pursue careers rather than love.

*whistles*

Thanks for the review!

I liked this a lot. :) Poor 'Mione, internalized homophobia is dreadfully painful. *sigh* And I always wish there was more Minerva fic, so I'm so glad it was from her POV.

I liked Minerva's brogue a lot, and snorted when I read that the plant Hermione had given her was catnip. Too funny!

Thank you :)

Heavens, I seriously needed some comic relief in this story!! It was all just so...serious.

I'm glad you liked the brogue -- it was something I felt needed to be there in order to show Minerva's loss of emotional control.

I just hope Minerva and Molly can sort Hermione out. And that her parents start to act like parents again. I rather imagine Hermione as one of those who say, "Well, there's nothing wrong with liking the same gender, but it just doesn't apply to me!" before being confronted with the realisation that yes, it does apply to her!

Thank you for the prompt, Ms Vixen! And thanks as well for the lovely review :)

Wow, thank you! I'm glad that you enjoyed it :)

(I'm also glad that the ending got to be hopeful without being overly mushy... It's hard not to make everything hunky-dory when ending a fic!)
