Oh, my, but this is beautiful...

"Marietta nods, then kisses her once more before they go back to the hotel, because she can. She doesn't need to know why."

"Marietta does not ask and does not care, no more than she cares about the why of it all. She only knows that she wants.

"Millicent Bulstrode, of all people, has made her beautiful."

Just marvelous, the feelings in these lines.

A wonderful start to Beholder, thank you.

Wow. I LOVED this. The insecurity of these two girls, the feeling of being misfits and banding together, the true-to-life feelings of stifling/guilt/etc that anyone with an overprotective mother will feel sympathy with. The imagery of the cliffs was lovely. What a fantastic start to this fest!!!!

This is the best story I've read in the HP verse in a very long time. I liked both Marietta and Millicent so much I ached for them. And Marietta's mother was so levely too, wanting to do the best that she could for her daughter and making it worse without intending to, but still, in the doing the right thing.

Thank you for this. Now I just need to find somewhere where I can rec it ...
