I've always liked Fleur. I *believe* that she can be a vicious fighter. I don't really understand Molly's distaste for her. *sigh*

Go Fleur and Tonks.

I didn't like Fleur myself until Book 6.

In book 4 she came off as haughty and snotty and disdainful.

Clearly loving Bill has mellowed her out and made her tolerable. The moment she stood up to Molly in the hospital, I was converted to being a Fleur fan.

And their mutual problem is why I think she and Tonks would get along. They both defy what is considered sensible for love.

Considering Veela, depending on your mythology are deadly fire elementals, I am certain Fleur will be fierce if she is ever put to the test.

In book 4 she seemed ... normal to me. She was a 7th year student asked to compete against a 4th year student in a competition she was told would be restricted. She was friendly enough, but we didn't really see much of her when she wasn't stressed out by the Tournament of Doom.

Loving Bill would probably mellow anyone out. *grin*

I'm also thinking of the whole "you've got to be kidding" way she treated Ron.

Yeah, she's a 7th year and he only a 4th, but there is such a thing as not shooting a guy down so he crashes and brurns, vs letting him down gently.

But in fairness, yeah, the Tourney of Doom was rather the stressful event.

Did you mean Fenrir Greyback, the werewolf who bit Lupin? I think Greybeard is a pirate...?

Anyway, nice drabble.

I *always* make that mistake. Always.

I don't know why my brain insists his name is Fenrir Greybeard.

*goes to fix*

I'm fangirling muchly, this was a nice choice that I doubt crops up much in fanfiction. And very well-done, too!

Thank you very much. Once Fleur showed herself to be something more than a pretty, vapid snob, the progression to her and Tonks becoming friends and teammates seemed natural.

Oh, love love love.

Even if I don't like Fleur much.

I didn't like her either until book 6. I was like "Her? Bill? WHAT? Is JKR on the plaid crack?!"

And then she stood up to Molly, and I was like "Okay, girl has earned my respect after being bitchy."

But the Fleur and Tonks trying to hunt down Greyback idea has been with me ever since.
