Wow! That is such wonderful and evocative imagery. I love the last line best and I think the entire work presents a picture of a Draco who is neither good nor evil but about to find which he will become.
Thank you! That's one of the nicest comments I've ever gotten. The last line is my favorite too and the first part I wrote. I'm glad it gave the picture you got as that was pretty much what I was thinking, though I wasn't sure if it came across.
I read your piece yesterday and thought about it all day today. Wonderfully lyrical and haunting. And the more I think about the ending, the more I realize the awesome beauty of how you wrote that!

Oh, thank you so much! The end part (as I said above) was the first part I wrote, it just kept running though my head and I knew I had to make a story around it. I don't tend to write longer things, and I don't really think they're as beautiful as this one (which is quickly becoming my favorite), but I do write some short things most of which I have posted to this site.
