I hope "Resolve" is a good enough word...I felt like if somebody wrote that about me, I'd be really flattered, but maybe that's just me...I dunno. :) It seems to describe Hermione's character to me...her determination, and her optimism...

I think it's a good word too. It fits her. Especially when her jaw is clenched, ready to take on the world.

Poor Hermione. Smart may be a compliment, but I don't think I'd feel the same way about bookish or brainy. Especially brainy. Kudos to Harry for finding a better word. And nice job to you with the challenge.

Nice twist on the theme. I like Harry coming up with something for Hermione that didn't refer to her scholastic abilities. It fits her so well, too.

No that is a schmoo. He was a character in the Lil'Abner comic strip in the 1940s:-) And my family loves the word "schmoo" and I have used it for my screen name for 11 years now.
