I always picture Ron and Hermione kind of like Harry's surrogate parents or older siblings. So I imagine that when they irritate him, he treats them as such.

I love the bit about how Harry knows Draco and what he doesn't want. It was great to see Harry struggling against his natural desire to step in, shout, and fix everything. Great story!

Draco is NO Damsel in distress. But that doesn't mean he doesn't need some love and affection. I feel like while Harry in the books always had a good moral code and strong loyalty, his childhood left him with an inability to readily express affection regularly. Enter: Draco Malfoy.
