Today is a bittersweet day for me. This is the first post of the last month I'll be posting regularly here on
hp_paperpiecing. December 20th will be our final Tuesday Photos and prize drawing.
I started this community four years ago and it has been an amazing ride full of challenges, meeting new friends, watching new designers emerge and, of course,
The Project of Doom.
All
Harry Potter patterns offered both here and on
Sewhooked have now been moved to
Fandom In Stitches. You will find many of the designers you know and love from
hp_paperpiecing on FiS, spreading their wings into new fandom territory. I hope you will join us there every week for
Photos from Flickr of not only Harry Potter projects, but blocks, quilts, bags and more, spanning many fandoms. HP will always be my first quilting fandom, and this community will always hold special memories for me.
Extra Credit Blocks
A huge thank you goes out to everyone that mailed in an
Extra Credit block! The final count is 39 blocks and I donated $39 to The Red Cross on behalf of
hp_paperpiecing just prior to writing this post.
I already have a layout in mind for this very special signature quilt and with any luck will be piecing the top over the holidays. I will post a photo as soon as the top is together. My goal is to have it ready to show for the quilt show my local quilt guild will be holding in 2012. I'd love to see it hanging side-by-side with my own Project of Doom quilt!
Now, on to Tuesday Photos from flickr.

Love For Lily
The
loveforlily fandom auction is taking place through December 10! It's a great opportunity to get awesome fandom-related goodies and help out a sweet kitten. Lily was rescued by my sister and her husband after being found abandoned on our parents' property. Her leg was injured, and we later found out she'd been shot. Infection from her wound was spreading through her body and she had life-saving surgery last Friday to amputate her front right leg. She's already on the mend and is getting around quite well on her remaining three legs. The auction is an effort to help defray Lily's medical costs, which have reached almost $2000.
STITCHED
I am one of 20 instructors participating in
STITCHED, a fantastic new online workshop series taking place in 2012. There are 20 unique workshops, freebies, and six months' access to each instructor as you make your way through the workshops. It's a great opportunity to learn lots of new fantastic skills and techniques at your own pace and in the comfort of your own home.
Registration is open!
And, as always, you can find me on
Sewhooked!
Have a wonderful week.
