Favorite jeans and the green cashmere sweater she bought even though it wasn’t on the sale rack. It wasn’t her first choice…nor her third. Jordan hadn’t changed her mind so many times over an outfit since Paul took her to her first real concert when they were sophomores in high school.
“Ugh!” she screamed at herself in the mirror, and debated if there was anything else in her closet.
Life was so much easier before The Mountain.
Oh, the bruises faded and the wounds healed. Physically, she was 100%. Emotionally? The jury was still out on that and it looked like they just might be hung.
What was I thinking? Jordan asked herself that question at least a dozen times a day

Woody stepped into her Pearl Street apartment and let her close the door. And then the moment froze when they looked at each other.
Christ. They were on a date. A date...
He wasn't sure if it was just the fact that they knew each other so well or the fact that unlike traditional couples, they had already 'rounded third base and were heading home before they started dating that made it fifty shades of awkward.
The look on her face said it all..."What do we do now?" Woody measured the fear in her eyes.
"Um. Water. The roses need water, Jor," he managed to get out over the lump in his throat.
Christ,Woody. This is Jordan. Jordan. The same woman that emotionally kicked your ass when you needed it, waited on you to get over Lu, and has always been there for you. This. Is. Jordan. Not the high school prom queen. There's nothing to prove here."Deep breath

He reached up to tug at the collar of his shirt, only to realize he was wearing a V-neck, and dropped his hand back to his side. An anxious action that probably nobody else would notice but her. Strangely enough, their shared nervousness made her feel calmer. Like they were in this together. She took a deep breath before granting him a warm smile, before turning to disappear into the kitchen

Woody chuckled and felt a slight blush hit his cheeks.
The fact was, he was trying to impress Jordan. Not in the typical-first-date kind of impress-the-girl, but now that the stakes had been raised considerably in their relationship, yes. He was trying to let her know that there was another side to him other than the side she had seen all too often.
"I heard it was a really good movie, too. And not just for kids. And it's by Pixar, which isn't exactly Disney. Not at least the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs kind of Disney, anyway."
