The only control I'll ever have in this situation is to remove myself from it.

I am not a coin toss.

I won't be someone competing for a medal. Especially if I'm being forced to race someone who doesn't even feel like running, yet is still somehow faster than I am.

I was as far out on the limb as I could be. Wasn't enough.

Tired.
