Six on a sunday: the movie edition, and a couple of other things too...

May 15, 2011 17:19

So I've been thinking a lot about writing movie fic this week, which I don't think I've done before. So I wrote a little snippet of something for three different movies, to see if I took to any of them. I'm kinda thinking I've taken to all of them.

Damn this meme is inspiring.

Here we go:

One - You've Got Mail

He realises now, all too late he thinks, ( Read more... )

I adore "You've Got Mail" so much, you have no idea, I love it more than it probably actually deserves.

He realises now, all too late he thinks, what a colossal mistake coming in here and sitting down was always going to be. Yes, yes, yes, he's ruined his life by sitting down in a chair; I love how love twists up people's heads into thinking one arbitrary action is really to blame for all the anguish. The chair! IT IS THE CHAIR'S FAULT.

This film is gorgeous and I would so amazingly adore it from his POV because the movie it is all about her, and ahhhhh, please continue this one.

YOUNG AMERICANS IS LOVE. MAN. I WATCHED THAT SHOW RABIDLY AND THE BATHROOM SCENE AHHH IT IS MY FAVOURITE SCENE FROM ANY TEEN SHOW EVER.

I think you probably love it the amount that it actually deserves. I really love it too, I think it's wonderful.

It's OBVIOUSLY the chair's fault, where have you been? The thing I always love about him in this scene (which, if it wasn't clear, is the scene in the coffee shop where he's supposed to meet her but she thinks she's been stood up and she tells him that he's basically dead inside) is that he's kind of really honestly surprised by how much she really dislikes him personally. He's just kind of taken aback by it, like the moment when Lizzy Bennet reams Darcy after he's proposed for generally being a heartless bastard, and he literally steps back and goes "and this is what you think of me?" As though he never had any idea whatsoever of anything he did ever having been taken personally. That's what this scene always makes me think of, and I love Tom Hanks in it ( ... )

(I have a spring/summer cold of hellish proportions, which is why I've behind on comments. I did manage to finally watch the Nikita season finale yesterday.)

Gah, I grumbled about Firefox 4.0 in March. That tab shortcut change is a bit annoying, I agree, but far worse was the freeze that happened every time I tried to actually open a new tab. I mean, tabs was one of the reason Firefox gained an advantage back in the beginning, so *headdesk* But it's far better now. I'm currently on Opera, but thinking of going back to Firefox.

Enjoyed the snippets, even if I've never seen Flipped and haven't seen the two others for ages. And oh, Young Americans *sighs happily* I loved that show. I have avi files of them somewhere, so I could hunt them down and upload them for you if you'd like. I saw that you posted BSG fic earlier, but I still haven't seen the back half of season 4, nor much of the New Caprica arc. I have issues. But I loved the early seasons. Speaking of YA have you seen Matt Czuchry in The Good Wife? I haven't watched everything ( ... )

Gah, I hate summer colds :( But I love that we're currently having four other conversations all over this town (the town being the internet) but despite being sick you started a new one :)

I also love that you apparently not only love every show I've ever cared about, but that you seem to KEEP THINGS, once you have them, which is amazing. Hells yes I would like Young Americans please. I watched one episode on youtube but it kept buffering and the quality was all awful and it got annoying. That would be awesome. But don't feel like you have to hurry about it, I've gone like ten years(can it have been that long?) without watching it, I can go for a while longer.

Flipped is adorable. It's everything I ever loved about Rob Reiner films, with a coming-of-age love story. My heart was literally warmed. Plus cool soundtrack.

A lot of people had trouble with the last two seasons of BSG I think, but I watched it all in one big lot, and just love it so hard, despite any issues I may have with it. It's like how I feel about The West Wing, ( ... )
