Have been reading and enjoying this, though I do believe this is the first time I've commented. Bad me. I love this. You are one of my favorite storytellers, ya know. :)

SPIKE YAY OMG [flails wildly]

...on a more coherent note, loved Anya's introspection and the bit of history lesson that goes so far to characterize her. Fantastic :)

Heh. The next story? Dawn and Spike. Just sayin'. You'll see...

I'm glad the introspection worked. This fic is mostly all wordy-action, but I wanted Anya's motivations to be clear, the why for what she did. I love Anya the Character. I hope it shows and that I do her justice.

The story-telling section was an *excellent* addition to the story. I'm glad you went back and tweaked to add it. Very well done! [applauds]

Thanks! I just had this nagging feeling that there was something missing. You didn't comment on such during the beta, but when I was lounging about in the shower today, it hit me what I needed to add. And I'm happy, so it's all good!

It felt mostly complete -- there wasn't any place where I could point and say, "That needs XYZ!" but as soon as I read the section, I knew what was missing.

Whew, so it wasn't just me. As I commented above, I love Anya and want to do her story justice. Part of me wanted to set sections of this as Giles' perspective, but it didn't work very well as narrative flow. This needed to be Anya's story, and we needed more Anya.

That said, Story #4, did I tell you there was going to be a # 4?, is going to be all of them: Anya, Dawn, Giles, Angelus, Spike and the ST. Louis crowd. I look forward to getting there...

I gobbled up all 4 parts and can't wait for dessert (part 5, that is!). I'm loving this - your Anya is so spot on, I can easily visualize her!

Very interesting thing you got going here with Angelus being part of the Dragon's line....I'm dying to know what he's got planned!

Most of whom we see in AB canon are related to Belle Morte--but Angelus doesn't have the right kind of feel for that. He, and Spike, love a spot of good violence in canon BtVS, and the Dragon is the line we know gets off on violence.

*loves*

Requiem? Brilliant! All of it! Describing how Giles *listens* to Anya was great, and there were great reminders that even though she looked like a teenager, Anya was a very old demon. More "adult", whatever that means, than the rest of the Scoobies.

I can't wait to see what you do with the place coup! Well, knowing AB canon, I have an inkling, but that's all :)

Plus, OMG Spike!

If I may ask, will we be seeing Dru in any of this? And you said before in the fic that Darla was dead.... really?

Darla is very dead. She was just a little too annoying for the Master of Beasts to put up with, now there's no more Darla. As for Dru, well, you'll have an idea about that after the next section, but Spike's story will be addressed in Tomorrow's Sunset.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked Requiem's addition. There are enough canon vampires to choose from that I wanted to keep everyone 'real' so to speak. I initially forgot about Penn when I wrote this section and had a new vamp in there, but could have smacked myself when I remembered him.

Anya was a very old demon, and was an adult, for the times, when she was demonized. She wasn't a child, no matter that was how the Scoobs treated her.
