It seems that LJ has suspended and possibly deleted a number of pages and Communities over the course of the last couple of days.

If anyone would like to make a backup of their LJ then they can easily do so with a utility called Livejournal Backup/Search Utility, which can be downloaded free here. Many thanks to t_eyla for pointing me to it.

It's not just "seeming", it's happening. Many are permanent suspensions. Half my f-list is under lockdown because of it.

Yes - sorry. 'Seems' was simply a figure of speech.

Reading around a bit, I've noticed references to the new FanLib site, and speculation about whether or not there might be a connection.

It's chilling stuff.

I've seen a few posters suggesting that, but I think it's unrelated. A vigilante group called "Warriors for Innocence" is claiming responsibility. There was a post that went around a few days ago warning this was about to happen, but most passed it off as a hoax.

I've been over to the 'Warriors for Innocence' site. I see it's administered by a woman who appears to view herself as an avenging angel, and a man obsessed with guns and war films.
