What a great idea this is, and what a great excuse to rootle around in my music folder :) James Taylor is God, and so that's naturally who I've chosen.

I don't really know James Taylor, what style of music does he perform? Might have to Itunes him.

JT is wonderful :)

He's getting on a bit now - he was discovered by the Beatles. It's difficult to know how to describe him without making him sound totally naff. He's a singer/songwriter, and started out doing acoustic guitar 'folk rock', I suppose I'd have to call it grimaces. Think Carly Simon/Joni Mitchell - that sort of thing. In fact, I think he was married to Carly Simon - there's a rumour that she wrote You're so vain about him, but I think she's denied it and I can't believe it :) *loves him*

These days he tends to record and perform (in the US, at least) with a band, and it's a more produced sort of sound, but still extremely cool. He writes some of the most exquisite little guitar riffs in existence, and the desire to play them is what got me to take up the guitar 5 or 6 years ago now.

Hullo thar. I dunno why I'm reading your journal (other than the fact that you're amusing) but this meme is awesome. So I'm stealing it.

I saw James Taylor live ages ago. The only things I remember about the show was that he used the phrase "sensative and introspetive and shit" (which amused me) and that I was sitting very near the toilets.

See the guy in my icon? Todd Snider. That's whose music I'm using. You might like him. Singer-songwriter guy. Very poetic. Very human.
