Guerilla Knitteres Unite! Yarn Bombing Anyone? PLOT

Sep 30, 2012 13:17

So, awhile back Ana found photos of creative yarn bombing. For those who don't know, it's a phenomena where knitters either clandestinely (though sometimes by invitation) gussy up public areas with knitting. We're talking knitting on statues, trees, sidewalks, just about anything.

Sophie's been knitting since forever. Last year she taught Elani. I'm ( Read more... )

While I think the yarn might bomb more over her than her bombing the yarn, Sandy can learn how to do a scarf or something. She's a lovely gopher.

That works. the new knitters can essentially make scarves which can be fastened around things.

You realize I'm not imagining Sandy as a kitten tangled up in a ball of yarn, right?

That's basically the image I'm seeing now, too. :D

Grey doesn't know how to knit but he has yarn from when he crocheted (He was like...13 and learned out of boredom) So he can make scarfs...

Crocheters are welcome! No need for it all to be knitting. I think scarfs are the most versatile. And hats. Hats knit up fast. Sophie wants to make Andean hats like the one she's wearing.

Grey is wondering if he can learn to make hats in enough time. lol.

Hats are just short scarfs, really. I think they're more interesting to learn on myself. (Scarves go on forever.)

Eileen needs to be taught. And then she's all over this.

Eileen has definitelyl been targeted because she needs to cut loose and be a tween sometimes. Maybe it would help Leigh get her mind of things?

I have no one that would really be able to help.

But.

This reminds me of Austin. :| if only because I see this all over the place here.

Edit to add:

I have, in fact, see this IRL. I should have taken a picture. I was looking a yarn bombed pipe outside a theater yesterday, in fact.

XD That's awesome! Someone could help put the stuff up if they can't knit. I'm sure it's right up Victor's alley. >>

(I'd say Haydn, but he's in a spot. D: )

Neither Zoe not Kat can knit, but they can be taught (Zoe does needlework) and should be recruited.

Briony would be amused. And probably can knit, I suspect one of her roommates in Minnesota taught her how.

I think you said somewhere someplace that Briony knits? It might have been teh first time she tagged Sophie.

Zoe will definitely be recruited because it will be silly and fun (the main reason why Sophie and Elani are instigating it).
