Diana wasn't at Rachel's announcement, but the news made it back into Town rather swiftly. As she figures more than a few people are going to need a drink in response to these events lately, well...

Everything at The Four Suits is half price today, come on in and drown your sorrows, folks.

It was hard for a korean to resist alcohol. Even harder - half price alcohol.

He barely knew anyone, but he had money in his pocket. And while drinking in Korea was done in at least 2s, he was willing to start just on his own. Hopefully, he would see someone he recognized and move into a group.

Maybe... probably not. Depends how drunk he got.

He started with beer. Cheap, easy to get, brand unimportant. He sat at the bar, watched the door, and drank, smiling softly to the woman behind the bar. He had no idea what was going on, so he wasn't here to wash away the political hoo-hah. He was just there to drink.

"You shouldn't drink alone," Clive said as he made his way to the bar and flagged on of the bartenders down for an ale lager, off tap. Bottled beer was not for him at any point in the day. But the Jack of Spades wasn't really hear to get drunk, he was hear to quietly make the rounds to many the diamonds that were present, and give them his condolences.

"Clive Kelly, Jack of Spades." He said after a moment, holding out his hand for the man to shake it as he offered a soft smile. "Are you one of the diamonds?" That was a fair question, really. Many of the people in the bar were.

He looked up mid sip, and sucked his upper lip free of foam as someone spoke to him. "Mmm...? Yeo In Su... j-jack?" He had to tally the numbers in his head: 2, 3, 4, 5... J, Q, K, A!

He flew out of his seat and did a deep bow, panting "Yeo In Su, 2 of the spades" presenting himself to the much higher value, and even while bowing, he held his elbow with one hand, while the other accepted the hand to shake in the uber polite Korean manner.

"I am in your service Jack Clive Kelly. Not a diamond, no... just- cheap beer Sir?"

"Woah, there Sport. Calm down." He said with a gentle smile. "Don't leave your beer on the account of me." Well. This was was a tad jumpy, wasn't he? Clive couldn't really help the amused smile on his face, either.

"And please, Clive works fine." Because 'Jack Clive Kelly' was just an odd thing to hear. "How have you been settling in?"

It's been a long day, and by the time Katriane makes it to the Four Suits, it feels like it might never end. But the way she wants it to end, today, is with a pink drink with lots and lots of vodka...

And french fries.

So that's what she has in front of her, still dressed in the green sheath and high heels she'd been wearing for work that day when the entire Suit was summoned to the throne room.

"Chin up, Sunshine," Clive gets out as he finds a spot to settle in next to Kat and steal one of her fries. "It could have been worse." Which was an understand statement. But feeling sorry for Rachel would only hinder the former Diamond queen in the end. If she was to get better, everyone had to believe she could...so she could believe it herself.

"Milord Jack." Kat leaned back with a bright flash of a grin that mostly banished the melancholy. "I know," she added, shoving the french fries at him. "But it still shouldn't have happened."

"There are a lot of moments like those." He said, shrugging a little. "And I am sorry for it happening to Rachel." Only, it seemed a bit moot. If they could go back and change things, it didn't seem like that it would change at all.

Avery looks tired but composed when she appears in the bar, dressed in her usual casual way in jeans, boots and tunic, and she gives Diana a slight smile as she orders her first drink and slides onto a barstool. If this had gone the way it had been intended to, she would have been wondering now if she'd be a candidate for Queen. But she can't think about that; it hurts too much.

So she just sits, quietly. She's drinking far more slowly than she did when Sieben died, but then she knows it doesn't really make pain go away.

The night before a challenge is not a night to get drunk.

But he has no intention of doing so. Instead, this more along the lines of moral support. So he'll just slide quietly into the seat beside her and wave to Diana for his only beer of the night.

Especially a challenge that may call upon your knowledge of esoteric vocabulary. Or might not; Scrabble games had probably been one with 'frog' as often as 'cosmopolitan.'

"Ready for tomorrow?" She asks quietly as she sips her drink slowly. She's not planning to get drunk, either. They were down a Face Card again, after all. There was going to be piles of work in the morning.

"As read as I'm going to be, I expect. I was thinking I'd play the whole game with two letter words, what do you think?"

He's joking.

Pete was just planning on having dinner here. He didn't actually show up to get a feel for the Deck's current vibes or anything.

I mean, who does that?

But he can be seen, sitting at one of the tables in the middle of things, quietly eating chicken pot pie and listening to the conversation flow around him. There's also a notebook on the table in front of him with a brief outline of the Arcana's time here at the Deck...for a story he's planning, of course.

No one does that. Obviously not. It's not like every bar in Town is riddled with people doing that or anything.

It's probably one cocktail too many in when Kat flops into the chair across from Pete and runs a hand through her mussed hair. Too much dancing and flirting is not good for one's hairstyle.

"You're a quiet one."

Pete looked up from his dinner and smiled politely at her. "Just having dinner. Should I be shouting?"

And no, no one in the Deck ever pays attention to what their compatriots are doing, of course.

"A dance number might be appropriate," she tells him. "Maybe tap, with a top hat and cane."

This was a Diamond establishment, after all. And she might sneak a peek at his notebook.

"Do you think that timeline will end with 'and they left and never came back?'"

She doesn't know the Queen of Diamonds from Adam, of course. There's a lot of people in the Deck she doesn't know yet, because she's been so wrapped up with not having expectations with the man she's found again. But paralysis is one of the most terrible things, and she's seen what it can do to a person's psyche. And so Abby was certain to drop by with flowers for the Queen and a few quiet words.

And now she was having a quiet beer while playing a game of pool. But that's not much fun alone.

"I was never good at this game," Riley observes after watching the other woman play for a bit. Even though sometimes it seems her head's stuck firmly in the ground, she can't miss the disappearance of the fifth castle and the drama that's followed. The whispers that one of the Arcana have gone insane? Well... maybe a game of pool would be good for taking her mind off it.

"Are you good at aiming?" Abby says with a slight grin as she looks up. "It's mostly just aim, and control."

"I'd like to think I'm good at aiming." She laughs, stepping away from the wall towards the table. "Aiming got me to Four. Riley James - it's a pleasure."
