Why did she do this to him. It was all her fault, you know, the fact he could barely watch half of the challenge, the fact that it was scarcely over before he was going to find her, the fact that he shoved aside any hapless Spade aside that got in his way (was that the Queen? Hrrm, he'd have to have an aneurysm about that later).
"Are you happy now?" God, how embarrassing. At least he continues more quietly, walking up to her. "Oh, you'll probably have room for at least eight more cats in your new office, not to mention the... your arm... like the cocky, stupid... why did you let him pick? He could have..." Eh, half the anger is directed at himself anyway for being too much of a pussy to say this before the challenge. "...I love you."
New heights of crazy, and it's all her fault. Hope you're happy, Urania.

Buh?
Possibly not the most coherent reaction she could have at this moment in time, but Urania just...blinks. Up. At Isaac as he, well, rants. "I..." she begins, but then he gets to the end of the rant, and her eyes actually somehow manage to get wider. And she might actually be blushing, which shouldn't be possible when you're thirty-three, a brand new Six of Spades and standing in a ring with an unconscious brand new Four of Spades behind you.
"I love you, too." That seems like a reasonable response, doesn't it? And it is true, and good god why are there so many Spades at her challenge watching this.
It will be... something. XDbrightbutlerApril 18 2012, 15:14:22 UTC
"Yes, well..."
Then he pauses. That's one way to take the ranting wind out of his sails. To not put too fine a point on it, it isn't quite the reaction he'd been expecting, not that he'd thought that far ahead. After all, Urania is kind of out of his league, and he's been throwing his version of a prissy bitchfit ever since he found out she'd be challenging up. And, no matter which way you slice it, those aren't words Isaac's had much contact with.
"I like to think so." And the shock of now, really has worn off enough to give him a properly Urania smile. She's vaguely aware that she will never in a thousand years live this moment down, and that assorted Spades are probably going to be smirking at her for the months.
She tries wiggling her fingers and the properly Urania smile slips into a grimace. "Um, we should probably locate Raj or Eli."

There isn't a Spade Challenge that doesn't have Chives showing up at least for the end--but then, it's often likely that a simple chess challenge could end with bloodstains that require Immediate Attention. This particular Challenge? He actually comes to watch Properly, despite the Known Factor.
So it's for the best that the end of the Challenge will bring him to the other end of things, to directing persons who can remove the new Four from the scene (and to the surgery, but that's secondary) and begin Neatening Things again. It's... Good, that The Other is here to handle Urania. He believes that.
And he's not holding anything to drop if he happens to overhear any Bits and Pieces of conversation. Quite the Week.
As is expected.starscrownherApril 18 2012, 15:43:56 UTC
She can see you over there, Chives. And she may have been uninvolved in the Cupcake Situation of early this week - but that doesn't mean she's forgotten, and she aims a slightly pained smile in that direction as she gingerly climbs out of the ring and tugs Isaac in the general direction of medical attention.
Granted, she's the one in need of medical attention, but nonetheless.
If her mind had been anywhere but Here, on This in the last few days, he would have been most Put Out. But it's Mr Lazaresco's body he's Cleaning Up, and that's as it Should Be.
What matters now, here, is the Four Seconds he might be able to hold her eyes before she's vanished off to Medical Help and Isaac's Expert Care. It's enough time to mouth what he needs to say before they fall back into their respective, faintly separate spheres where he cleans bodies and she loves Isaac and all the other things he'll Deal With later.
That gets a bright smile, counter to the pain and current bewilderment that's going through her brain right now, and after a moment she reaches back to tug her hair down. It's a mess, of course, and she'll likely be in a cast for weeks. Isaac will take care of it when he's there, and he'll be there for a lot of the time. But Diamond Castle still has to run, and it can't really run without him.
He had been requested as the ring side medic and as such had the typical supplies to care for whatever injuries may be endured but were not detrimental enough to call an end. Johnson just watched calmly, interested. Muay Thai was something of a bloodsport and he did enjoy learning the techniques of others. He'd done a fair amount of research for Urania but seeing them bent against eachother was a new thing. When necessary, he'd given the aid and then the go ahead to continue until Remy was slabbed against the post like a fat steak. Avoiding show of the amusement he felt, the doctor simply entered the ring with a few two's that Chives had so kindly snapped at and had them scrambling to retrieve the strecher. Urania was seemingly preoccupied with others for now, he would first get the body out of the ring. Heavy as ever.
Once finished, he followed down out of the ring and to the newly risen six. Hands out, "shall we?"
They probably ought to, really. The sooner she got confirmation that yes, her wrist was very broken, the sooner painkillers could happen. It had been a while since she'd last broken things - primarily in training accidents, once in an altercation that had gotten billed as a training accident - and had forgotten in the ensuing twenty or so years how much it actually hurt.
So she carefully lifted her arm and raised an eyebrow. "Broken, I believe."
Less than a sprain, fun enough. The innitial pain is greater but the pain thereafter is far less. Everything in the clinic was currently being lugged around so you'll have to pardon his fingers and the pain that may further from them as he will be needing to do this the old fashioned way. First, he'll just gauge the sensitivity. Then, he'll lead her to his room (not office) as it was in a far less insane state.
Her lips tighten as he gauges the sensitivity of it - because it is quite sensitive - but a calming breath is all it takes before she follows him, settling into a seat before she speaks. "How long will I be in a cast?"
Victor rareley went to watch challenges. But this wasn't just any Challenge. Urania was meant to be a four, to spend her life wallowing in her 'insanity' and self-pity. This? Was not normal, as far as normal goes. He shifted on his crutches as he moved around the gathered people, coming up to where Remy was laying.
With a crutch he shoved at the man's shoulder, frowning at the former six. "Get some water," he told a lingering two, before he looked up and stared at Urania. And then, after a moment, he smiled. "Congratulations, Six. You've done so well."
It was probably going to take more than poking to rouse Remy. Probably more than dumping water in his face, too. Solid metal posts made for nice concussions, and she'd given him a hard knock if she did say so herself. She raised an eyebrow as Victor smiled. If the man had smiles that weren't disturbing, she hadn't yet seen one in ten years.
"You do honor me so much, Ten," she said after a moment. "What do I owe the pleasure of you actually gracing a challenge with your presence?"
"I'm hurt, Urania, that you think I would miss such a rare occasion. You, challenging not one rank up, but two. A difficult feat, especially for one so....disinterested in success." And because he would hardly be willing to pass up the chance to nudge this particular Spade.
"A shame your sister was not present. I do so enjoy her company when I can."
"I'm flattered." Except not. "If I knew you found the idea so fascinating, sir, I might have picked something more in line with your own interests. Knives, perhaps. Or swords." She smirked at him, leaning against the ropes as she waited for Eli to pick his way over, and ignoring the what the hell are you doing look from Isaac. "Calypso thought it was best not to expose the children to excessive violence, but I'll be sure to pass your fond wishes along, Victor."
Katya remains near the back of the crowd. Her height ensures her decent view of Urania's challenge. She nods to herself as fight progresses. Urania, as she had thought from their shared workout, is clearly better fighter.
When it is over and the very surprising soap opera runs its course, she approaches the new Six, pausing to poke Lazaresco's shoulder with one toe. Out for the count, but functional.
David had always disapproved of killing opponents, and it didn't surprise her that Katya is the same way. It hadn't seemed worth it to rid the world of Remy Lazaresco when he could do just fine at Four.
She hadn't, really, but she looks over at Remy's prone figure critically. "It might be wise," she says after a moment, "for him to learn a trade. I think we have a hole in maintenance if the number of times Ben from the Diamonds and Monty from the Clubs are over here fixing things is any judge."
Both men had a tendency to be....listening too, she'd noticed. Counter-intelligence wasn't her area, but she might as well make suggestions that would assist with it.

"Thank you. Have you given thought to Mister Four's new assignment?"
She glances at Urania's wrist. No doubt Eli already is making way over to her.
