This is Julien, with a folded up (cloth, sorry, Chives!) napkin wrapped haphazardly over his hand.

Why?

Because there was a minor altercation between his palm and a blade he was sharpening.

Also because there are only bandages that look like this left in the medical supply cupboard.

That's not true. There are also the Hello Kitty and Scooby Doo bandages, technically speaking. No, Zoe isn't going to suggest that, but she will hold up a normal-looking bandage. "I had extras."

Actually it's more like living with Victor necessitates keeping an extra infirmary in the bedroom.

Clever girl, not suggesting the others. And also showing up with proper bandages.

"So you do. Are you offering or merely taunting me with them?"

Even as he's reaching with his other hand for the presumably proffered bandage.

She raises her eyebrows as she hands it over. "Oh, I thought about taunting you with them, but I thought Chives would get upset about the spilled blood."

"Not only Chives, I imagine," Julien murmured as he took the bandage and set himself to properly fixing up his hand.

Starting things again with Victor just didn't sound like Julien's idea of a good time. Well...not right now at least, with so many other things going on in the Deck.

...Yeah, this Six is laughing at you in the inside, Julien. "Something happen, Lord Ace?" Obviously something happened. She'd like to know what, though.

"An accident, as such things do." Even to him, sometimes.

Momentary distraction and sharp objects did not tend to mix well.

Stony face stony face stony face. DETERMINED to keep the stony face.

"Must have been something quick and sharp to warrant a bandage like that." So much for the Ace's lightning reflexes.

"That is also the way of knives, yes," he says, dryly. "But don't worry, Miss Six..it's not very deep."

And the bleeding won't be for much longer.

Katya is more concerned with the cause for that knife cut than the wound. Julien can take care of himself (though she would reward anyone who could convince him to wear the oh-so-cute bandages).

"It is not like you to slip." The regular bandaids must have been packed up in preparation for the infirmary's move. She'll send someone to dig them out.

His eyes narrow. "But not impossible, unfortunately."

And he had rather a lot on his mind.

"It happens. I worried some new difficulty had arose to distract you."

The Two returns, clutching a medical kit. Katya raises an eyebrow at the unfortunate. Was it necessary to parade through castle carrying this?

"No, merely the same ones of late."

Of course he's mentally kicked himself over the stupidity already, but there's no sense in saying that. Or letting on how much it bothers him that he slipped in the first place.

It's only polite to visit the Spade infirmary once more to make sure it's all set up properly. After all, she'd nearly moved in to look after the Ten's leg after his challenge. But she hasn't even reached it yet before she's distracted by the makeshift bandage. That's what registers first, followed by the fact that it's the Ace.

"Milord Ace. Mind if I look at that?" It's a polite question. But really. Let her look at that, please.

He just raised an eyebrow at the doctor and made no move to offer up his hand for inspection. "It doesn't need stitches and it really doesn't need a doctor."

He's perfectly capable of performing first aid on himself, you know.

She doesn't speak to the Ace often enough to reach for it without his permission, she knows that much, but she tips her head at the sloppy bandage. "You know yourself best, but let me re-tie...is that a napkin?"

Julien just restrained himself from rolling his eyes, "it's sterile," because he didn't expect anything less out of Chives.

"And it's only until the bleeding stops." Truly, it was a scratch hardly worth bothering about.

Well, this is part in due with that the entire clinic has been ordered to move. It's an organized chaos here; this, that, and everywhere, but.

"There is gauze, Milord. If you'd prefer."

"Is there?" He must have overlooked it in his haste.

"And where might that be, Doctor?"

washtheblood April 19 2012, 00:07:54 UTC
Forgivable due to the fact that they are in his bag. He had packed supplies for the challenge tomorrow knowing that most likely he would not have anything hanging about where the clinic was now for much longer. So he will lug it up to the desk that was still miraculously there and open the bag. In a sterile bag, a single roll. He had more. Knowing Muay Thai, it might be necessary. And pass it over without a word.

Julien nodded and accepted the gauze, opening it and setting about properly taking care of the really not worth so much effort cut on his hand.

"And how is the move going?"
