So in reflection he had come to a conclusion which is that in the matter of time before sobriety to now he had become something fiercely cynical and incoherently cranky. While the Two's execution had been something of a (really needed) release there was still plenty of things to do (re: bullshit the living hell out of his sister who decided to show ( Read more... )

It was probably an RSI, honestly. She'd been typing even more than usual, and the laptop wasn't...great for that. Add in a few stress-relieving games of tennis, archery work, and her wrists probably hated her. Specifically her left wrist, if the pain was any judge.

She'd been expecting either Frankie or no one when she came in, and Zoe blinked when she saw Eli. "Oh," she said. "You're back."

His eyes drift to the opening door. A brow slowly rises and a tug of his lips pulls over. "Don't strain yourself with shock, Miss Four."

He nods before rolling to his feet. "What can I do you for?"

She rolls her eyes at him. It's been an eye-rolling sort of month, and she steps inside. "My left wrist," she says. "I've been getting some sharp pains in it." She rubs at it lightly, more out of instinct than anything else.

Oh how interesting. Her attitude not her pain. There's another short nod as he opens his hands to examine her wrist. He wont bend of squeeze it yet but he will feel if there is any rise in temperature and check for any swelling.

"Squeeze my hand, please."

He didn't particularly care to be walking into The Good Doctor's office. Well...walking was a bit of a stretch. His crutches were what they were, and the cast on his leg is the real issue. He's 90% certain that Frankie put it on him out of sheer revenge, instead of simply giving him crutches. Either way, she isn't in this office he was told- which meant he had a higher chance of convincing the Englishman to see reason.

The cast got in the way. Surely plates, robs or whatever it was she put in his damn leg could do the job without him being in a cast. Surely.

"Good Doctor," he said as he pushed in the door, holding back the sigh of internal frustration. He, truly, hated crutches.

Ah. Someone was suffering. This makes him feel a bit better.

Never the sign of it on his face though as he merely looks a bit impressed. Unfortunately he had not been there and did not have the files or the knowledge of what happened and what Frankie did which - admittedly - bothered him a little. In the sense that he wasn't here to do the work that he should have been here for. Butting the smoke and pushing aside the tea he welcomes the newly promoted Ten in.

"And what can I do you for, Milord Ten." That might or might not have been purposed, the Milord part.

"You can remove this cast," it was more a demand than anything else he'd said in a long time. The cast was cumbersome, coming up to mid thigh. It was always in the way, it was heavy, and he was certain it somehow made more trouble than not.

"If you would, please." At least hadn't lost all his manners.

It was a little ridiculous looking. The entire leg, more or less? He'll slowly take a roll to his feet. "Mh, I don't have your files unfortunately, Sir Fox. How Honest are you feeling?"

Which isn't a no. It's more of a, 'I need information so that if i do remove the cast your leg wont snap in half.'

[Well, it had been a little while since The Incident. And by 'The Incident', Vince means the fact that he saw his friend torturing someone in a way he hadn't seen anyone being tortured since the old regime.

Time to...

Well. Time to what? There was no need to reconcile, because there hadn't been a fight. But something is off now between them, and Vince wants to fix it.

Somehow.]

Good afternoon, Doc. How are you doing?

Well to be fair the awkwardness was more on your side, Vincent. One can't imagine why that might be. Nevertheless he'll let a very subtle smile slide over his lips when the man enters. Cigarette sliding from lip to fingers.

"Quiet well thank you, will you be staying for more than a greeting?"

In this particular case, awkwardness on both sides can hardly even be imagined.

"Unless you'd mind me, Eli?"

Embraced a new truth of his character, have you? Shame. The mask was fun while it lasted but there's no sin in making a new one. He nods and opens his hand to the chair across the desk before standing to lean against the front of it.

"I've the time." he pauses. "How are you?"

Ah. Back at work. Trust has yet to be reestablished, if that will ever happen. Still, Katya pauses at the entrance.

"Doctor. Do not be getting too comfortable. It has come to my attention that we must be moving your clinic."

You had trust in the first place? Aside from what he can do, that is. He shakes himself out of the thoughts. His organizing need is more of just... his organizing need.

"Milady," he slowly rises to his feet.

"It's hardly mine," there's a pause. "Moving an entire clinic is a bit of a project." With it being large and full of equipment. "Or do you simply mean me and my position in said clinic?"

"Now, Doctor, it is only a few boxes, yes? I am sure you will manage." The Queen's smile belies her words. She trusted his skill as doctor, but recent events bring even that into question.

"Of course it is yours--to run if anything else. Once you have settled in, come see me and we will examine likely sites. A clinic does not need stairs leading to it." Their next recalcitrant patient may not have Victor's sense of balance. "Once we know where, I will send people to take care of drudge work."

And so you will continue to question and he will continue to do his job until there's some ground of understanding. This keeps him marginally sane, Katya. The torture aside. This very thing, doctoring, likely the only thing that makes him vaguely human and he's slowly starting to realize how much he's dependent on that. Suppose he always knew but emotions and concepts tend to be a bit shallow when your head is made of concrete.

Moving along.

"I'm settled fine," he said calmly with a nod. Wasn't his design now was it - but he wont say that, he'll just nod. As it was true, honestly. "The larger equipment will need more than a few to maneuver. If we're talking an entire move we'd be looking at a month about or more. If we're talking temporary, Milady, I'd be glad to help with the creation or moving of some items to the main floor."
