There's a certain element of romance/romanticism to most of your choices: a certain elegance, and refinement. They're not the most efusive or expressive of characters: they'll always keep their true feelings hidden or tempered.
At least, the ones I know! I don't know all of them.
One thing I notice is that many of these characters are incredibly resilient. They get through some really trying things (Time War, separation, emotional abuse, family pressure, etc.). And there is more to them than you might think at first. True for Superman (well, Clark Kent), the Doctor, Rose, Jane Eyre, the Beast, Anne and Anne. (some of the other characters I just don't know).
Many of them are also very independent and intelligent. Does that count? (I suppose you could like the vapid bimbo characters. IDK)
I don't now about patterns so much although I did notice the Doctor, the beast and the phantom all thnk they are monsters but really are lonely souls looking for perhaps salvation, or love.
