fic-all alone ch.2

I had gotten the best sleep that night, than any other night this week. At first I thought it was all a dream. I was going to wake up either alone, or next to some random mistake. But no, I awoke and there she was, like a sleeping angel. I smiled and held her closely to me and kissed the top of her head. It was a Saturday, and even though I had a yoga class in thirty minutes, I decided to skip just so I can hold her. I felt the heat of her breath on my neck and it gave me chills.

“Morning,” she said to me in her half sleep voice.

“Good morning beautiful.”

“Did you sleep well,” she asked, her eyes still closed.

“Better than I had in days.”

“That’s good, I’m glad,” she said and yawned.

“You’re still very tired.”

“Yeah, when I came over I had gotten off a thirty-six hour shift. ER was packed,” she responded, still with her eyes closed. I pulled her up and helped her from the couch and to the bed. I placed her under the covers and I laid down next to her. I held her once again and fell asleep. I woke up about forty-five minutes later to her staring at me.

“Hi,” I said.

“Hey. Sorry I wasn’t much fun last night.”

“It’s ok, you worked long hours. It’s cool, I get that way when we’re working a strange case.”

“Yes, I know that all too well,” she said and laughed. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her laugh. I stared into her eyes for a while and grabbed her hand. Our fingers intertwined; never had I held a hand so soft.

“Ok, so I have to ask so that I make sure,” I said, “but, um, what is this? What are we doing? I mean, I thought you and Chase had something going on.”

“Well, Chase and I…well, I was never really in love with him. My head was but my heart wasn’t. And, well, I was hoping I could be your girlfriend.”

“Really,” I asked.

“Yes really, I’ve had feelings for you since I first saw you. I was really hoping House wouldn’t fire you so that I could get to know you.”

“Wow that’s one of the sweetest things anyone has ever said to me,” I said and kissed her. She smiled at me and I got up and straddled her hips. I pulled her shirt off and started kissing her neck, and chest and made my way between her breasts. She moaned and that turned me on.

“Have you ever been with a girl?”

“No, you’re my first,” she said and smiled.

“I’m glad, you just lay there baby, let me do all the work,” I said and winked. She smiled and took my shirt off and started biting my neck and kissing my chest. I pleasured her as I’ve never pleasured anyone before. I was so turned on by her, and I didn’t just have sex with her. Not with Cameron, she deserves more than just a good fuck. I made love to her. Never had I ever been so passionate. With every shout of my name, I made sure I’d hear it again. Never had my name sounded so sexy. After a couple hours, we just held each other. A few minutes passed and I heard a knock at the door.

“Who the hell,” I exclaimed, I did not want to leave Cameron. But the knocks became more rapid.

“Just answer the door babe,” she said and kissed me. I got up with the sheet wrapped around me and opened the door. Really?

“Ugh, I got out of bed for you!”

“I…umm, just, uhhh,” he stumbled over his words.

“Spit it out Kuttner.”

“I…it’s hard to concentrate.”

“Yes, you interrupted, try to concentrate so I can get back to bed.”

“Yeah. Heh,” he said and cleared his throat, “you were supposed to meet us at the bar last night and I was just checking on you.”

“I’m fine dude.”

“Remy tell who ever is at the door to go away,” I heard Cameron call from bed.

“Holy shit, is that…Cameron,” he stuttered to ask.

“You heard the lady,” I said smiling as I closed the door on him.

“Who was it?”

“Well, it was Kuttner doing a welfare check.”

“Oh Lord, now I’m sure House, Taub, AND Foreman will know in minutes.”

“House has always been intrigued by my sexuality,” I said and laughed, “we’re going to have to face them eventually.”

“I know, it’s not them I’m worried about.”

After spending a beautiful weekend with my new girlfriend, it was time for the workweek to start, and the terrorizing from House to begin. We walked into the lobby and passed Cuddy in the clinic. Her mouth hung open, as we kissed and parted ways in front of the elevator. I got in with a smile on my face and pushed the two button. I loaded my guns as the elevator doors opened and made my way to the locker room to put my things down and get ready for my shift. I put my lab coat on and rounded the corner just as Foreman came in, ready for interrogation one.

“Morning,” he said.

“Morning.”

“How was your weekend?”

“Best weekend of my life,” I replied and he smiled coyly.

“Does Cameron have something to do with it?”

“Good news travels fast,” I said and grinned, “ask it.”

“Ask what?”

“What you’ve been waiting to ask,” I said and he smiled.

“I just wanted to say that I am glad that you’re finally ok. It’s great that both you and Cameron have found each other. I’m glad you’re both happy.”

“Thanks,” I replied and smiled. Foreman has got to be the most honest and non-pervy guy I’ve ever met. I walked into House’s office, made myself a cup of coffee and sat down at the conference table. I met the pervy eyes of both Taub and Kuttner. I sighed and sat back with my arms folded, awaiting their curiosity to overcome them. Kuttner sat there awkward, and Taub twiddled his thumbs.

“I guess it’s up to me to break the ice,” Taub said, and turned to me, “so you’re boning Cameron?”

“Ugh, you’re disgusting.”

“What? It’s a legitimate question. Kuttner saw you wrapped in a sheet and heard Cameron’s voice. This assumption is not going to make an ass of me.”

“I just wanted to insert,” Kuttner said, his voice cracking, “I did not use ‘bone’ when I told him.”

“Good morning children,” House said as he burst through the doors, “we have a case. Thirty four year old man who had the sudden loss of function in the right side of his body. No stroke, he just collapsed.”

“Maybe it was a mild stroke, I’ll run an MRI,” Taub said and eyed Kuttner.

“I’ll assist Taub and…”

“Oh why? So you and Taub can chat like little schoolgirls about Thirteen’s lesbian love affair? Ha! Thirteen, Kuttner shift through his house, maybe you can find something that could have triggered this. Taub, MRI. Go,” he said and we all got up to leave, “Thirteen, hold on.”

“Yeah,” I said after everyone cleared the room.

“So who’s on top?”

“Ha, I was waiting for that. As a matter of fact, we like to rotate, she really likes when I’m on top though.”

“Hm, visualizing. Annnd, yaow-suh!”

“House is there a serious conversation in there, or can I do my work?”

“Yeah, this whole Cameron thing. She has this thing for clinging on to those in pain. She has this desperate need to feel like she needs to be there, like she can change things. Her husband, me, and now you.”

“I really don’t care if she has this need. I’m really starting to fall for her, and I think she is with me. This feeling is unbelievable and as hard as it is for me to explain this to you. One who has no feelings, I think I might actually love her.”

“You don’t love her, you only love the thought of her.”

“She is my girlfriend and about her need to cling to those in pain, well, at least I won’t be alone when I die.”
