[Today, Isabel is in London, and bundled up warm against the ENDLESS SNOW that seems to have decided to assault her dad this year. She's sitting on a bench near the Thames with a notepad out, a pencil held in gloved fingers, and chews her lip thoughtfully before shaking her head and crossing something out decisively.]

No, that's not right...

[She looks up and smiles in slight surprise] Hi, Elliot. I'm just writing a few things... [She lifts the notebook to demonstrate.] What are you doing down here in London?

I realised that. [He smiles.] I thought it might be warmer.

Well, you're out of luck, I'm afraid! It's been snowing here for ages.

[Someone's coming back from delivering papers and stuff to the Parliament buildings all wrapped up like a puffy marshmallow and barely any skin showing with plans to stop at Arthur's house before returning to Belfast. But Izzie dear, you've been spotted from behind. So have a snowball flying for the back of your head.]

[It's a dead hit! She jerks forwards and jumps in surprise, the pencil and notebook dropping from her hands onto the ground.] Ow! [And now she's twisting around with a look of EXTREME ANNOYANCE to see who it was... and oh, of course it was Connor. She's rubbing the back of her head still, but her face still lights up in pleased surprise.]

Uncle Connor, that hurt!

[He pulls the scarf down off his mouth, grinning back at her as he walks up to her.] Come off it, Izzie, there was no ice in that snowball. [But he still rubs the back of her head where the snowball hit...]

So, what in blazes are you doing out here in the cold?

It hurts more when you're not expecting it. [She sticks her tongue out at him slightly, clearly not all that bothered about it in the end.]

I get my best inspiration when I'm outside! [And she stoops to pick up the notepad and pencil as evidence :>b]

[And who should come along but one of your cousins Izzie! Who is, shockingly, not with his sister! He catches sight of her and heads on over, peering over her shoulder] Writing anything interesting, gefnder?

((gefnder = cousin in Welsh))

[Twists round with a smile] Ifan! Nothing much, just a song.

[He chuckles and settles down next to her, tucking the shopping bags he was carrying behind his feet] Don't say that, Mam would be having some words about that if she heard you. "Just a song," can you imagine? "'Tis never just a song," she would say.

[She laughs] I know, I know. But it's only a few lines of a song right now, so that counts as "just a song" until it's done, right?
