Tom sits in the common room, sipping tea and reading the morning's Daily Prophet. He likes to spend a few mornings out of the family's private apartments to be available to any residents or teachers who might wish to speak with him.

He's responsible like that. Plus the Daily Prophet is still mostly crap, and it's quite to put down.

John stopped by, remembering his conversation with Allie a while back.

"Hi Tom, what's your policy on field trips? Specifically ones where observation of events and history's possible?" He greeted the other man as he approached him.

"Hullo, John. Field trips? Well, Ace takes Ingress in her TARDIS on trips fairly often. As long as its safe, I have no objections. What do you have in mind?"

"Allie actually suggested it when we were comparing notes on well, our unique abilities. Thinking just a way to take the kids, and be able to observe early points in history. Maybe even get an idea how the Earth's changed over the millenniums through erosion, volcanoes, and tectonic plate movements. As long it's safe to do so, and not endanger anyone or the time period itself."

"I have no objections. You might even check with Ace. I'm sure she'd be fine with combining forces, now that there's are a couple more children in school."

"Oh, hullo, Zhaan. How are you this fine day?"

Zhaan remains rather enigmatic to Tom. The fact that she is of plant origin is hard for him to wrap his mind around. However, she drinks tea and seems quite pleasant, so really that is all that matters.

"I'd be delighted to hear your idea. Do tell."

He sets down his newspaper and gives her his full attention.

Le Chiffre's not actively seeking Tom out, he rarely seeks anyone out, but it's all about who he finds on his general days of people watching. The common room isn't his usual haunt, but every now and then there's an urge to catch up on the goings on of his place of work, and do what he does very well, which would be staring.

His entrance is a sullen one.. hardly surprising seeing as it's Le Chiffre. Not to mention he doesn't do mornings. This'll be part of the reason why Tom gets very little more than a grunt as his greeting. But a very respectable sounding one, of course.

"Tea?"

Tom sympathizes. He's not much of a morning person himself.

"..Please," he finally nods back, after a brief eyebrow arch at Tom, followed by a heavy slump into an armchair and a yawn.

"What on earth are you reading?"

Tom points at the tea kettle on the corner table. It begins whistling. With another wave, a tea cup is filled. He waves the cup over to Le Chiffre.

Who needs to get up when you have magic?

"This? Oh, it's Wizarding England's main newspaper. It's quite atrocious really. Less news and more fluff."
