*Meg's wearing her new purple dress, gift of Yrael; it's not quite as dated as her usual formal garb. For one thing, it actually allows her to sit down.

She beams at Tom.*

I promise to eat everything, *she avows, which . . . might not seem like a big deal, if you don't know Meg very well.*

"Well, we've been working hard all afternoon, so I hope you like everything."

He hasn't burned anything with a mistimed charm.

"Door's still finishing up in the kitchen, so I'll escort you into our family dining room. Meg, you'll be able to walk through the painting to the front gallery on your own, but I'll need to take you through that painting."

He pauses.

"Actually, one moment-" He keys Andrew to the painting. "I don't know why I haven't done this before. Welcome to the House of Arch."

They each step through the painting, and once in the family's front gallery, Tom takes them by the arm and brings them both to the Tudor dining room of the House of Arch.

"Can I get you something to drink? We've a red and a white wine, or I can get you something else, if you like."
