This was so incredibly lovely. I love Kennex's sense of responsibility here, and the trust that both of them have, and the kiss and the ending too.

I love this line: "I know you will,"

And I adore this part too: there was something else; something new that he was feeling. He tried to identify it, but found his central processor was impaired; wasn't able to complete a search for the emotion. He felt weak, vulnerable, for the first time in his short life. A whimper fell from his lips. He needed... what? He wasn't sure.
