Prompt: What happens after the finale.
Author:
vanya_eldaRating: R
It's two o'clock in the morning and all Katy wants to do is sleep. It's two o'clock in the morning and all Kris wants to do is make love to his wife.
The hotel room is dark and quiet save for Katy's gasps as Kris earnestly kisses her again and again. His needy hands alternate clinging to her and working to unzip her dress. Katy whimpers when he nips at the skin of her neck. Kris drags his lips up to the sensitive spot beneath her ear and pants.
They haven't been together like this since his homecoming. The realization gives Katy a second wind.
Her hands go for his waistline and push underneath his t-shirt to splay against the taunt skin of his abdomen. Katy purrs as her fingers travel over her husband's lines and squeeze his hips. She's rewarded with a slow, soft kiss that makes her toes curl.
Kris's fly is opened after his belt is hastily undone. Katy steps back to shove the canary yellow dress off her curvy hips. Kris tosses away his shirt and Katy lets out a noise of approval. She finds the bed and settles down on the covers as Kris kicks out of his pants.
The cold air of the room sends a shiver through Katy before the warmth of Kris is on top of her; the charm of his necklace feels cool against her breast bone. The touch of Kris's skin arouses Katy until she's panting with want. Another chill ghosts over her when Kris pushes up on his fists. Katy digs her nails into his toned back as Kris drags his body over her.
Kris lowers himself; Katy arches up to meet him. "You better have a condom," she deadpans when his mouth finds her neck once more.

Notes: Hope you enjoy!
"Um... Katy..." Kris started awkwardly. He clenched a hand painfully over his stomach.
"Yes..." Katy said, waiting for Kris to continue. After another moment of silence, she continued, "What did you do this time?"
"It seemed like a good idea at the time!" Kris said quickly, "And Allison said that she did it last year, and it wasn't bad!"
"Kris." Katy cut him off. He could practically see her with one eye-brow raised and a hand on her hip. "What did you do?" She said slowly, pausing between each word.
"I... I just ate 14 plums." He said quickly, closing his eyes as he waited for her to berate him.
After a moment of silence, he heard Katy explode in laughter on the other end of the line. "You... you... ate..." she tried to say, but couldn't finish because her giggles cut her off.
"It's not... that... funny..." Kris said, sticking out his bottom lip.
"I... I'm... sorry!" Katy said, still giggling. "So, how did that work out for you?"
Kris looked around the small bathroom of the tour bus, lamenting his situation.
"Not well."

Prompt: College fic, Kris saves Katy from a drunken frat boy, Katy shows her gratitude
Author:
vanya_eldaRating: PG-13
"Y'know, you're kind of...hot."
The scent of alcohol is thick on the attractive stranger's breath. Katy's nose wrinkles in mild disgust. Taking a seat on a couch to rest her feet was clearly the worst idea ever.
"Right. Has that line worked for you before? 'Cause it's not, right now."
Her eyes widen when the guy scoots closer and spills some of his beer on the couch in the process. "Shit. Alcohol abuse," he slurs at the wet spot before swinging his gaze back up to Katy, bleary eyes trailing over her. He smiles. "Hi."
"Hey, babe. Wanna dance?"
Katy is already starting to stand when her head swings around to the familiar voice behind her. "I could kiss you," she breathes and takes Kris's hand. She abandons her drink and the bewildered frat boy to drag her boyfriend through the patio doorway and out into the humid night air.
"You could do more than kiss me," Kris says in a low voice as he wraps his arms around her. He bites down on his lower lip and wags his eyebrows.
Katy gives Kris a mischievous smile and leans into him. Kicking up one heel, she nuzzles her thigh against his. The nails of her left hand scratch lightly at the nape of his neck. Kris drops his lip out of his mouth in anticipation.
Tilting her head, Katy returns the suggestive brow wag. "Oh, I have something in mind," she says slyly, making him pant. Kris inhales sharply through his nose when Katy takes away his breath with a rough kiss.

Prompt: Kris serenades Katy, set anytime/anywhere
Author:
vanya_eldaRating: PG
"Whoa there, Sally," Katy says as she steadies Kris after he collides with a wall in the narrow hallway. "You are drunk."
"Am not!" Kris replies with defiant upturn of his nose, which just makes his stumbling worse.
"Really drunk," Katy amends with a laugh when they reach the kitchen. Her eyes go wide with fear as Kris falls to the kitchen floor. "Kris!" she hisses, hand reaching out to him. She's relieved when he lands on his knees.
Katy's relief immediately turns amused embarrassment when Kris spins around on his knees with open arms and slurs out, "You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips!"
"No," she says evenly but Kris just sidles closer, voice getting louder.
"And there's no tenderness like before in your fingertips!"
"Oh my gosh, stop!"
People take notice of Kris's drunken spectacle when he shouts, "You're trying hard not to show it, baby!"
Some of the spectators laugh. Others ignore them entirely. Two of Kris's friends suddenly appear in the opposite doorway and Katy's hand snaps up to cover the smile on her face. She knows what's coming.
"But baby," Kris's drawl is coming out as he builds up to the chorus. "Baby I know it--"
Kris's friends slap an arm around each other and join in. "You've lost that lovin' feelin'! Whoa, that lovin' feelin'!" Kris's face scrunches as he belts the words and dances on his knees. "You've lost that lovin' feelin'! Now it's gone, gone, gone.... Whoa-ohh."

Prompt: Kris serenades Katy, set anytime/anywhere

Notes: Okay. So, it's 359 words, but I think you'll forgive me once you're done 'aww'-ing. :]
Katy is adorable. She's in their bed, hunkered down beneath a web of covers. Fluffy pillows are there to prop her, but she's slid down to be neck-deep in blankets. Her blond locks lay splayed and mussed about her head. A pair of stylish but thick black-framed glasses sit on her rubbed-raw nose. It would be perfect if she wasn't dying of the plague.
Okay, she isn't dying, but Kris keeps saying it anyway. She'll roll her eyes, but it makes her smile every time.
"Thank you," Katy says as she takes a mug of tea from Kris. Her tiny, weak voice makes Kris's chest ache. He feels helpless and wants to hold her until she's well, which is exactly what he has in mind when he climbs onto the bed, carefully steps over her legs, and joins her beneath the blankets.
"Kristopher!" Katy gasps in a strained whisper. She pauses to cough before adding, "No. Go away. You're not allowed to get sick!"
Kris pushes out his bottom lip and sidles closer to his wife. He plops his face down on the pillows. The innocent pout extends to his warm brown eyes as she gives him a sidelong look.
"But I like your plague cooties," Kris says quietly.
Katy huffs a sigh of discontent, but she's smiling when he digs to embrace her with strong arms, blankets and all. Kris squishes his nose to the side of Katy's face to kiss her flushed cheek. Katy grins into her mug of chamomile tea.
"You wanna know something?" Kris says quietly.
"Mmm sure," Katy murmurs.
"Baby, I'm amazed at the way you love me all the time," Kris croons softly. "Maybe I'm afraid of the the way I love you."
Katy grins. She sets her tea to the nightstand and turns to bump foreheads with him. "More, please," she demands with an insistent nuzzle.
"Baby, I'm amazed at the the way you pulled me out of time." He pauses to kiss her temple where he mumbles, "Hung me on a line."
Katy wiggles closer to Kris, which makes him grin.
"Maybe I'm amazed at the way I really need you..."

Prompt: Highschool Kris and Katy on a bus during tour orchestra.
Author:
yuppielawyerRating: G
"Congratulations on making first chair, Kris," Katy said nervously, from downcast eyes. They were the first words she had spoken in the hour they had been riding the bus.
"You, too," Kris said, smiling.
Katy laughed (a little too loud, she worried). "I didn't make first chair, though. Only third."
"Yeah, well, third chair is still great. And there are way more violin players than viola players, so, you're probably better than me, and I think I really just got lucky, I don't know," Kris responded (a bit too rambly, he worried).
After a couple minutes of silence, each of them alternating between looking at the other, and then, down at their own hands, Kris finally got the courage to speak up. "Maybe we could go to a movie sometime. You know, if you wanted to." He held his breath then, waiting for her reply.
Katy's face lit up. "I'd love to," she said as she reached into her bag, fumbled for a piece of sheet music, tore off a corner, and scribbled her number down. She got chills when their hands touched for just a moment as she handed him the scrap of paper. She watched as Kris stared at her number for what seemed like forever, a smile creeping across his face.
"I'll call you this weekend?," Kris said, sort of asking, and sort of just saying. Katy nodded, and then beamed, as she felt his fingers thread through hers.

Notes: This was fun to write! I loved putting this moment into words --- exactly 300 words, to be exact! I usually drabble!fail, but I tried really hard this time. :) Enjoy!
Katy settled her things beside her on the seat near the back of the bus. She wasn't really a back of the bus kind of girl, but today she was feeling like she wanted to just sit back and watch the world go by outside her window. She glanced out the window at the bright blue, cloudless Arkansas sky, but she was soon roused from her musings by a voice.
"Can I sit here, Katy?" someone had asked, stopping at her seat. She looked up at the smiling face of a wide-eyed brunette boy.
"Yeah, of course, Kristopher," she replied, moving her things to the floor in front of her. She was a little taken aback that Kristopher Allen was talking to her, much less asking to sit with her. It's not that they had never talked; they were in orchestra together, but they'd never had an extensive conversation. Lately though, she'd noticed him across the room during rehearsal and couldn't help but think about how cute he was, occasionally losing her place in the music while doing so. She'd thought she'd seen him looking back once or twice, but at the time, she'd dismissed it as wishful imaginings.
The vinyl seat covering warbled as he sat down. She inhaled sharply as his arm brushed hers. The engine started and the bus lurched forward.
"Hi," she said nervously, turning slightly towards him with a wide, friendly smile as her bright hazel eyes clicked into sync with his soft, brown ones.
"Hi," he answered, echoing her timidity. Soon, however, their nervousness is lost to laughter, discussing music and even a few amazing minutes of handholding.

Seven years later, and now a happily married couple, Kris points to this as the moment when he knew he really liked her. Katy always agrees.

Prompt: "Do you remember when..."
Author:
modsiwevoliRating: G
Notes: just a fluffy ten-year anniversary fic.
Kris smiled at the woman at his side as they walked down the path through the park.
They had been married for ten years now, the ten happiest years of his life.
"Hey, do you want to sit and rest for a while?" Kris asked quietly, motioning to a small wooden bench placed in the shade of a small willow tree.
Katy grasped his hand in hers, smiling and nodding up at him.
Once they were both seated, Kris turned toward Katy, taking both of her hands in his.
Softly, he began to sing to her.
"Do you remember when I won Idol, and all I wanted to do was hold you in my arms?
Do you remember when I we spent the night in a store, hiding from crazy fans?
Do you remember when I canceled a show to come home, because you had been in a car accident?
Do you remember when you told me that you were pregnant, and I couldn't help crying?
Do you remember when we held our daughter for the first time, and knew everything would be alright?
Do you remember when, I told you that there would never be another, we would last forever?"
Kris looked slowly into Katy's eyes as he finished singing.
"That was beautiful..." Katy choked out, tears running down her cheeks. "I love you so much."
Kris gently pressed his lips against hers, cupping her face in his hands.
"I love you too."

Prompt: Phone call. Katy facetiously chides Kris for the "big 'D'" tweet.
Author:
vanya_eldaRating: PG-13
The opening lines of "I'll Be" blare out of Kris's jeans pocket. He excuses himself to take the call in the hallway. He exits Adam's hotel room with a little jog. The door shuts out heckles of "Ooo!" and "Whipped!" from the group inside.
"Hey, gorgeous."
"Kris, what the heck!?"
It was like she was right there punching him lightly on the arm.
"What did I do, now?"
"Oh, don't play dumb with me."
Kris's eyes boggle and he throws up a hand of surrender though she can't see it. "Seriously. I don't know what you're--"
"'The big D', seriously? Seriously, Kris?"
Kris eyes roll upward. He mops a hand over his face, squishing his nose to the side. "It's a joke. A stupid one, but..."
"But?"
"Nothing. Like I said, the D is for Dallas. I'm in Dallas."
"Thank you, Admiral Obvious."
Kris snorts and lets his hand fall back to his side. "Are you seriously upset?"
"Nope."
Relief visibly washes over Kris as his upper-body goes slack. "Well, what -- what the hell, Katy?"
"Language, Kristopher." She loftily sing-songs, mocking his mother.
He snorts once more and his upper body shudders as he laughs to himself. "I love you, so much."
"I know." He can hear the devilish smile in her voice. "You love me and I love you, Krissy."
Kris groans at the despised nickname. His head snaps around when hears Allison giggle loud enough that she must have an ear pressed against the door.
"Oh, man. I think we're being watched."

Prompt: What are Kris & Katy saying to each other during the epic hug after he won?
Author:
joannacullenRating: G
Notes: Awww, GOD I LOVE THESE TWO!
She wraps her arms around him and he buries his face in her soft blond hair; breathing in that sweet, familiar scent of her strawberry shampoo.
"You did it," she whispers, and somehow over the roar of the crowd, he is able to hear her small, loving and comforting voice. "I am so proud of you, baby."
Her voice is the most important voice right now; being in her arms is all he wants to do. She's been his backbone, his support, his helpmate - never failing. He thinks about how much she's had to put up with as he struggled to make his passion for music into a career. Now, after all the hard work and tough times, he's finally succeeded, and he needs her by his side, always.
"Thank you," he whispers as several tears roll down his cheek. He's not really a crier, but he's so surprised, joyful and overwhelmed by this moment, that he does. The way her arms tighten around him lets him know that she understands. "I love you," he says, choking on the words. "Always."
