33 Apocalypse Ave, Tuesday Morning

Ronan sat at the kitchen table, his hands around his coffee mug -- he wasn't drinking out of it, not more than the occasional, absent sip, so much as trying to absorb the warmth through the mug.

It wasn't working; his heart? Still kinda chilled. Whatever was going on in the multiverse had him shaken to the core.

Ronan's phone rang eventually. There was a text sitting on it, but Jack had gotten yet more impatient and needed to talk to someone he was sure would be on the island -- and soon.

Ronan let the phone ring for a moment, the sound not quite penetrating his thoughts, before setting aside his coffee and picking it up. "Dai stihó, this is Ronan," he answered, not even glancing at the caller ID.

Jack closed his eyes, leaned his head back against the wall of the train station that had been the last stop on his futile journey.

"Ronan, it's Jack. There's about a halfway chance this is an insane question, but -- is anything odd happening there?"

"... Like people disappearing kind of odd?" Ronan asked. "And place, and entire worlds? Because yes.

"You might want to get to Fandom ASAP, if it's happening in your world, too."

It shouldn't be a surprise that Isabel hadn't slept well. Too much had happened too fast and she'd spent half the night feeling guilty that she hadn't just had Wyatt drag her family to Fandom first thing yesterday morning instead of arguing and wasting time.

When the smell of coffee drifted into the bedroom, she left a restlessly sleeping Wyatt and followed her nose.

"Morning," Isabel quietly as she stopped in the doorway to the kitchen. "Did you sleep at all?"

"After that?" Ronan asked, raising an eyebrow. He nodded in the direction of the French press on the counter top; anything fancier and she'd need to head to the Perk. "Barely. Trying to figure out if it's safe to head back home or not, when my wizardry relies on describing things as they are."

It was coffee, it had caffeine. It was all she needed at the moment. Isabel poured herself a cup then took a seat at the table.

"Speaking from my limited experience? I'd say no. It's not." But she understood the desire to want to go home and check on the people he cared about.

"I'm going to see who I can get ahold of first," he assured her. "Make contact, see if there's anything I can do there. Otherwise... I don't even know. I mean, I can't exactly help them if I throw myself into... some kind of limbo state, or whatever. Or burn myself out trying to power a spell that can't work."
