Whoa. Jen, I love you and I swear to god you must be psychic because I was about to post here asking if anyone had a good recipe for Red Velvet cake. As in I was planning to do a quick read of my friends page and then post my recipe request. Thank you so much...can't wait to try this one out!!

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but I thought I'd ask *just* in case:

Are the chopped cherries in this recipe supposed to be maraschino cherries?

Actually, I *was* going to make it to take to a family dinner party tomorrow night, but I usually like to do a test run once before making a recipe for a dinner party (so that if I mess it up I know exactly what to fix for the next time). This recipe seemed a little more difficult than your standard cake, so I wanted to play it safe.

I just finished printing up the recipe for my Recipe Binder though. I'm going to make it one night this week and will be sure to take lots of pictures for you!
