I really like this! The whole "slow build up" to the asking out. I do wish there was some physical description of Cynthia, maybe next chapter? Right now she is a bit older than Erica in my mind and shorter, smaller, brunette.........actuallu I DO NOT like the image MY mind came up with. I'm hoping you can remedy that. Please!

Its interesting that you got shorter, smaller, and older brunette. In my mind I got a shorter, smaller, and younger one. Do we agree on confident with a slightly crooked and yet oh-so-sexy smile? :)

That's interesting that you want a physical description spelled out. A lot of writers will tell you not to give too detailed of a physical description so that the reader can fill in the blanks and imagine the character to their own liking. H4H gave a couple of hints, gray eyes, beautiful. The woman I envisioned was kind of hot. Think Jennifer Connelly on one of her good days. I don't know what it is about JC but sometimes I think she looks really good and sometimes...well, not so much. Anyway, that's my two cents.

Sorry for the tardy reply. Thank you for the lovely comment. Scarification may simply be a modern construct (now accepted as a word) or perhaps the kink guys pulled it out of the air, I'm not sure. But, I'm definitely going for the tamer side of this prompt. Rest assured.

I'm so sorry for not replying sooner. But, I'm definitely going for the scars side of this prompt. I'm not trying to get too dark and twisted.

I think Erica would be the type to blow off subtle signals or pick-up attempts. She strikes me as someone who wouldn't want to presume anything. I' glad the first kiss resonated, those really are a magical time, I think.

I agree, scarification makes me cringe!! That said, i loved this:D I chose this over newspapers today as my breakfast read:] I love how Erica is so convinced that she "does subtle just fine", when she's so terrible at it! LOL:)

I also love how she makes Cynthia work a little harder and doesn't just invite her in right away. Dr. Hahn wouldn't go all the way on the first date, me thinks:)

Ooh, and the way she acts around Massey is so typical Dr. Hahn and so insanely hot... :)

I apologize for not replying sooner. But, you made me laugh. Hopefully the next part won't be cringe-worthy. I'm going for the tamer angle of this prompt.

I'm so glad you like the protrayl of Erica here. I always have loed that combination of toughness, when it comes to here dealing with colleagues or subordinates, and then subtle vulnerability, when it comes to her personal life.

I'm sure Erica got the subtle. I'm sure she fought it, ignored it and perhaps cornered it into the 'she's just really friendly and always comments on my hair' kind of person. I love how in power, and control Erica can be over her interns (who, soooo knew what Cynthia was after), yet shy and timid towards this new woman. Am I calling our Erica friget? prove. me. wrong... :P

Ok, so our lady of class, bump uglies on the first date? i think not, miss cynthia; even if you are persistantly adorable, and able to return to heart pumping tasks...

This was a breath of fresh air.

I agree Erica is probably a little slow to catch on to a pick up, or too cautious to make any persumption. I too love that dichotomy in this character. She's all business when it comes to work, but often fumbling a bit to the personal.

And I think Erica's the kind of gal who can hold out a bit. *nods* Class, hard to get, whatever...
